RE: Announcing MinimServer 2
Hi. Trying to get MinimStreamer installed on my NAS so I can listen to BBC radio again. Having worked out I needed MinimServer 2, and failed to find the Free Trial page (!), I ended up buying a license. Only then did I realise that version 2 doesn't yet run on my Synology. Hoping I haven't just paid £28 for nothing!
![]() Any update on when MinimServer 2 will be available for Synology? Thx |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2
You can install MinimServer 0.8 with MinimStreamer 0.7 on your Synology for now and start playing BBC radio with that. When MinimServer 2 becomes available for Synology, it will be very simple to update to it and activate your license.
Synology is the next platform for MinimServer 2. I am working on it now. |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2
I knew someone would say that.
QNAP should be next after Synology.

Surprised myself (as a non-techy) by actually getting it to work; sort of. I now have all the BBC stations in the Playlist and can select them. However, they take about half a minute to start up (which I could live with) and then only play for about 2 seconds (which is a bit more problematic!) When I press 'play' they start again and do the same thing. Tried Dash and HLS options with same result. The File Format when the station starts up says "AAC 48kHz 16 bit" MinimServer is v8.5.3 and MinimStreamer is v7.15. All of this is on a Synology DS210j and my streamer is a TEAC NT-505. All my FLAC files play perfectly from the NAS, as does TIDAL. Can you help me please? Thank you. |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2
I have an idea about what might be causing this. To confirm, I would need to see a debug log. Please do the following:
1) Browse to the playlist containing the BBC stations 2) From the MinimWatch minim icon, select 'Show log' 3) In the log window, change the logging level to Debug 4) Leave the log window open 5) Play one of the BBC stations until it stops. Do not restart it. 6) In the log window, click 'Save as' and save the log to a file 7) Zip the log file and attach the zipped file to a post here as a file attachment 8) Set the logging level back its default setting of Info |
