Maybe an unwelcome change to some but my reaction is that given the excellent quality of MinimServer and the associated software the annual cost of a full licence and ongoing updates is not unreasonable. I hope sufficient other users agree with me so that the future of MinimServer will be assured.

Concur and agree with previous writers. As a (fortunate) owner of a compatible Melco device, I hope the license will be offered for purchase before the expiration of my trial version.

Do you have the new 4.01 firmware and the MinimServer 2 trial up and running now? Did everything go smoothly?

I updated to 4.01. I have a problem loading minimstreamer. I activated the trial and get error message :
MinimStreamer: recording directory error: /mnt/disk1/share/recordings in the log. I can send you the full log if you need it.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I have just released MinimStreamer 2.0.2 with a fix for this problem. If you restart MinimServer, this should install as an automatic update.

I have upgraded my N100 to ver. 4.01, activated Minimserver2 and waited. The process was smooth.
There is one issue I'd like to draw your attention to: After installing MinimStreamer, Minimserver2 does not successfully start but is stopped at some point. The message according to log file is:
"...
MinimStreamer: recording directory error: /mnt/disk1/share/recordings
Startup complete"

Is there a page with the proposed license cost? And will there be multi year or lifetime cost?
