MinimServer with Synology DSM 6.1

My setting for the update of DSM on my Synology 211+ is "automatic", so I didn't have a chance to fefuse the yesterday night update to DSM 6.1-15047. Since then things are over and done with the installed MinimServer 0.8.4.2, update 97 (the latest version, I believe). Synology's information about the incompatibility of these two pieces of software seems not to be only a erroneous message. My DSM 6.1 showed the MinimServer as "running", but the MinimWatch symbol of my Windows 10 PC remained grey-brown (not running) and LINN Kazoo told me "no server available". After some stops and restarts of MinimServer I've uninstalled it by the means of Synology package center. Unfortunately, MinimServer does no longer exist in the Synology package center for re-installing. Or do I miss something? Who has any ideas?

Maybe you can install minimserver manually by downloading the package. See the installation howto of minimserver for synology NASes.

Simon, what about a DS213+ with powerpc CPU? Someone in the naim forum said that minimserver no longer supports the powerpc platform? Is this true (then I will not update to 6.1)? Or should minimserver still work on DS213+ with DSM6.1?

This is the only way to install MinimServer on a DS211+. Synology are not willing to make the ARMv5 version available in the Package Center.

As far as I am aware, this should still work. If there is any issue, it is likely to be with the Java package from patters rather than with MinimServer. Please let me know.

I did not dare to upgrade my DS213+ yet. I am waiting if Alan in the naim forum reports back if he will have got minimserver to work again. He wrote that after upgrading, the package center states "The package version installed is not compatible with your DSM"

The post from Alan says that he has MinimServer 0.8.3.4 installed. If he updates to the current version 0.8.4.2, there will be no problem.

I now have updated my DS213+. Everything is ok. minimserver and bubbleupnpserver are running. They only reported that the java installation was corrupted on the first start and I thought to have to reinstall java again.

After minimserver did state this, I did so. The restart of minimserver after reinstalling java was fine. But when starting bubbleupnpserver after this for the first time, it did tell me the same java-corrupted-warning. So I just stopped and restarted bubbleupnpserver again. The second run did work ok without any warning. I do not know what this problem might be. Seems not to be a real problem.

Were you running MinimServer 0.8.4.2 before you updated DSM? This message about Java corruption is a known issue with earlier versions of MinimServer.

Yes, I already had MinimServer 0.8.4.2 running before the upgrade.
