(16-12-2014 22:02)simoncn Wrote: You shouldn't normally be using startd to launch MinimWatch on Ubuntu. This runs MinimWatch as a daemon background process. Instead, you should use minimwatch/bin/setup to enable MinimWatch desktop integration and then double-click the MinimWatch launch icon on the desktop. I tried but nothing appear. I've got this message when i lauched ./setup: "MinimWatch desktop integration is not available" I'm under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. And when I open a web page to see the statut of minim server, it's say me: MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. Media server status for MinimServer[Nas]: Error Any idea? Cause me no...

If you have an older version of MinimWatch, please uninstall it and install 0.8.3 instead. When you have MinimWatch running, this will show you a red minim icon. The hover text for this icon will show you more information about the error. Please post this information here. |

Please do the following: 1) Login as root (not admin) via SSH 2) Run the following commands: export SYNOPKG_PKGNAME=MinimServer export SYNOPKG_PKGDEST=/var/packages/MinimServer/target sh -x /var/packages/MinimServer/scripts/start-stop-status stop sh -x /var/packages/MinimServer/scripts/start-stop-status start 3) Copy the complete output to a file and attach it here. Many thanks! |

If so, please post the full text of these messages. If there aren't any messages in the system log, please repeat the previous stop/start sequence and then copy the file /volume1/MinimServer/appData/minimserver-out.log and attach it here. |

RE: Minimserver 0.8.3 StartError on Synology
(19-12-2014 20:41)bbrip Wrote: This is the error log created: Do you also see "MinimServer start error" messages in the system log? I would expect something like this: MinimServer start error: Fri Dec 19 19:19:44 MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. The problem occurs because you have set the .logPrefix property in your MinimServer properties. This changes the first line of output from: MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. to: Fri Dec 19 19:19:44 MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. The MinimServer startup script reads this output line to check whether MinimServer has started correctly. It doesn't allow for the date/time stamp at the start of this line and therefore thinks the MinimServer process hasn't started. It then deletes the /var/run/minimserver.pid file, which causes the other problems you are seeing. I have made a fix to remove the .logPrefix value from the start of this output line. This fix is available in MinimServer update 52. Please do the following: 1) From the minim icons, use Close to close all but one of these icons 2) From the last minim icon, use About + Show updates to install update 52 without relaunching MinimServer 3) From the last minim icon, select Close 4) From the Synology Package Center, start MinimServer Thanks for all your help with finding and fixing this problem! |
