Minimserver 0.8.3 StartError on Synology
Hi Simon,
I just updated tofrom 0.8.2. to 0.8.3 on my DiskStation 1513+. Package installed successfully but when trying to start MInimserver, I am getting a "minimServer start Error" No further clues given. Any idea? Thanks bbrip EDIT: I did find the following error flag. Looks like its trying to start multiple instances.... Strange |

RE: Minimserver 0.8.3 StartError on Synology
I rebooted the NAS but the same problem persists, however al least I've got one running instance now and two "red icons' on top for good measure ;-)

Can you use "Refresh" or "Close" from the red minim icons to remove these icons? |

Also interestingly enough my DSM menu says the MinimServer was stopped. However it's definitely running. See screen print. Somethings odd.... bb NB: Status"angehalten" means "stopped" - but see the normal grey icon in the upper right corner... |

Here are some suggestions: 1) Try another reboot. If you are lucky, things might go back to normal. If not.... 2) Uninstall MinimServer (making sure you backup the configuration file), then reboot, the reinstall MinimServer. |

Another reboot didnt fix it. Before I uninstall: Could you just give me pointer as to where I find the config file?

RE: Minimserver 0.8.3 StartError on Synology
Upon my attempt to completely reinstall Minimserver, DSM gives me a message that port 9790 is used by another service. How can i find out wich service this might be as bow I cant reinstall Minimserver at all....
Update: I stopped a few other services that I don't need, rebooted the NAS and now managed to reinstall Minimserver. But the issue remains. I get an error msg that MinimServer cant start. It shows as stopped in the package center but is actually scanning the library... |

How can i find out wich service this might be as bow I cant reinstall Minimserver at all.... Something has happened that is causing the Package Center to start two or more instances of MinimServer. The first instance starts OK and I presume the Package Center status would show Running at that time. The second (or subsequent) instance fails to start because of the port conflict and the Package Center status changes to stopped. Which version of DSM are you running? Which version of MinimServer did you have installed before you updated to 0.8.3? Was it 0.8.2 or 0.8.1? If you uninstall MinimServer completely (taking care to backup the configuration file by selecting this option during the uninstallation process) and then reboot the NAS, are any instances of MinimServer started? This has never happend on my NAS (a DS713+) and at the moment I'm not quite sure where to start looking for the cause of the problem. Your answers to the above questions should provide some clues. |
