Check router and firewall settings. Something there is preventing wifi devices from seeing the network. Also, from your Mac's perspective, changing to wifi could be regarded as switching to a different network that is treated differently. For example, in Windows you have a distinction between home vs public networks.

Unfortunately the Eero router has no advanced settings that I can find. I've sent a support request into them to ask about multicast.

Some routers have difficulty with multicast on wireless network connections but work correctly with multicast on wired network connections.

With at least one router, the multicast problem occurs when usng the 5 GHz wireless band but does not occur when using the 2.4 GHz wireless band. If you are curently using the 5 GHz band, you could try changing to 2.4 GHz to see if this makes a difference.
