It's worth checking Security under System Settings in the QNAP Control Panel. I have Security Level set to 'Allow all connections' and Network Access Protection disabled. What settings do you have?

I will check later and let you know. What about SSDP? Is that something that is relevant?

SSDP is very relevant. Where have you seen this setting?

RE: GETTING STARTED - rockerz - 10-12-2015 20:50

I have just been reading about it. After work I will check on theNAS and see if I can find settings for that

It's unlikely that you will find a NAS setting for SSDP. The only NAS setting that's likely to affect SSDP discovery is the Security setting.

The security settings were as you recommended. I could not find any path to adjust the SSDP settings. At this point I am open to any suggestions.

I have been using a Samsung tablet and the problem is even worse on that. When the tablet goes to sleep it has a hard time finding Minimserver again when it wakes, even after a minute or so.

It can sometimes be difficult to find the correct configuration setting for disabling IGMP snooping. Sometimes this setting appears in more than one place in the configuration pages. Can you post screenshots for the router and the switch showing the configuration pages where you have applied the setting to disable IGMP snooping?

I cannot get my Mac to paste the screenshot in the reply window.

I found this:

Cmd + Shift + 3 (takes full screen in clipboard)

Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4 (takes selected area in clipboard)

Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4, then Space (takes selected element or window in clipboard)
