Missing albums

Missing albums
My set up is: CDs ripped on a MacBook Pro using dBpoweramp; music stored on a Synology 214j; MinimServer on NAS; MiniServer on MacBook; ethernet connection to a NAIM Atom controlled by their app.

Finally got it working with advice from this forum and was happy as Larry.

I've been ripping loads of CDs but I've found that some aren't showing on MinimServer. The really odd thing is that I'm missing all the albums from some groups, eg Pink Floyd but can see other groups.

On the other hand, I can't see seven out of ten albums of a Beethoven box set, for example.

And whilst I'm at it can't get all the album covers despite the fact they're all in in their respective folders.

I have rescanned from my MacBook and am now out of ideas.

Would really value any help.

Thanks

RE: Missing albums
Have you checked the MinimServer log for error messages?

RE: Missing albums
This log is for MinimServer running on the Mac. Is the problem occurring with MinimServer running on the Mac or MinimServer running on the NAS?

RE: Missing albums
Hi there

My music is stored on my Synology NAS and streamed from there. I can access the NAS from my SMART TV and I've just noticed that I can't see the 'missing' albums on the tv either. They are definitely in my music folder on the NAS.

Makes me wonder if there is some issue with the ripping. I use dBpoweramp. Any suggestions?

RE: Missing albums
Think I've fixed the missing album problem. I needed to go into MinimServer on the NAS and rescan there, not on my MacBook!

Only thing now is that I can't see about 10% of the album covers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

RE: Missing albums
Are the missing covers embedded within the audio files or standalone files? If they are standalone files, they need to be the same folder as one of the audio files of the album. For example, if you have a top-level box set folder containing ten subfolders with audio files, you can't put the cover art file in the top-level folder.

RE: Missing albums
Hi Simon

I looked and some folders did not have any album art cover, not sure why. Anyway, I downloaded a jpg file of album art and put it in the relevant folder, but still not picking up on MinimServer ( after a rescan).

Any ideas? Thanks

RE: Missing albums
What name did you give to the album art file? Are you sure you did a rescan for the NAS instance of MinimServer?

You might also need to refresh the control point's view of the library. Stopping and restarting the control point should do this.

RE: Missing albums
Thank you, Simon. All of the above worked and I needed to name the artwork 'Folder.jpg'
