Cannot activate license

Having just restored a Win 11 backup I cannot activate my licence.

Album Tracks Sorting Alphabetically?

I recently purchased a Matrix Audio NT-1 streamer, I was having problems getting it to work with my previous UPnP, server Asset installed on my QNAP NAS drive & saw the recommended UpnP server is Minimserver, so I downloaded the free version to give it a try. It synchronizes with my library without issue but I see if I browse by artist, their albums are sorted alphabetically & then when you select an album, they too are sorted alphabetically instead of track #. I don't believe this is normal even with the free version? All my files are FLAC, ripped with I believe the default dBpoweramp tag defaults. When I check the IDtags I think they are good, (sample attached) any help?

In trying to troubleshoot an instance of MS on a QNAP NAS, I looked to the settings in my flawlessly running MinimServer on a Raspberry Pi 4. Now I've managed to mess that up too! I decided to make a clean sweep and succeeded in uninstalling it, but have run into problems reinstalling. Here's the read-out:

This follows the replacement of the hard drives in a QNAP NAS, which had MinimServer installed though not active for a long time. Before the upgrade I backed up my apps and data, including MS, and after reinitialising the QNAP I restored everything. I suspect when the apps were restored MS automatically created fresh config files which caused problems when I then restored my data, which included the previous MinimServer folder.

The full messages displayed are: "Media server status for MinimServer[LandroNAP]: Failed"

And: "Unable to migrate previous configuration; saved as minimserver.config.copy"
This latter line is repeated in the log file four times; the log contains no other clues.

I tried deleting minimserver.config and minimserver.config.save, then relaunching MS, as that worked on a previous similar situation on a Raspberry Pi, but it hasn't helped this time. I see there's a minimserver.config.error file, which lists two different config versions: at line 1 ".configVersion = 2.2.120" and at line 8 "minimserver.configVersion = 2.2.139"

Could that be the problem?

Issue with displaying track titles Arcam CDS50

Hi everyone. I’m using MinimServer on a Synology NAS (latest version) with an Arcam CDS50. Everything works perfectly, except for the track display. For every album, it only shows the tag of the first track played; even when the track changes and playback continues, the displayed title remains the same. I suspected the issue lay with the CDS50, but the problem doesn't occur when using a different UPnP server. Is there a solution? Here are my settings (the other fields are blank):

Unable to download MinimServer 2.2.r6 for QuTS hero

Hello Simon,
I am trying to install MinimServer on a QNAP TS-873A running QuTS hero h5.2.10.3577, but I am unable to download the installation package from the official website.
The licence terms page displays the filename MinimServer-2.2.r6-quts.qpkg. After I accept the terms and conditions, the Download button becomes enabled, but clicking it does nothing and the download never starts.
I have already tried several browsers with the same result. I also tried downloading it on my phone, but that did not work either.
An attempt to open a direct download URL reconstructed from the page’s variables also returned a “404 Not Found” error.
Could you please check the download and provide a working link to the installation package?
Could you also confirm whether this package, with Java included, is compatible with QuTS hero h5.2.10.3577?

Hi,

MinimWatch used to work fine on my old Intel Mac.

Now, updated to Mac with Apple Silicon processor, MinimWatch (2.2.r5) doesn't work anymore. When trying to start, an error is shown: LibjliOpenError.

Reinstall was not succesful: same error.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello. I am using the following for tagFormat:

Artist.display.Format={$albumartist$label$orchestra$conductor}

This works just great and for example on a rock band I get for example:
Steely Dan, MCA

What I would like is to add text in front of Label so it would read:
Steely Dan, Record Label: MCA

Is this possible?

Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle

Until recently, my tracks were ordered according to discnumber.tracknumber with a virtual tracknumber when there was no DiscSubtitle field and by separted track numbers with the DiscSubtitle as a Subheading in between.

I've noticed today that this is no longer the case on any of my controller endpoints (mConnect, Serento, Cambridge Audio) - Whle multi disc albums with no DiscSubtitle are fine, when I have a DiscSubtitle the DiscSubtitle groupings are listed at the top now, and all the tracks muncge together in the wrong order - with all th Track 1's at the top, then all the Track 2's etc.

This is manageable on some control points, but on others, where DiscSubtitle isn't seen at all, it completely messes up the playing order.

This is only an issue in the main views - If you access files via the Folder view it works fine, but that's not an option either in all controllers.

Has anyone else found this and have a solution or has a bug appeared?

WMA files found by MinimServer but folder removed from index — QNAP TS-216G

I'm running MinimServer 2.2 update 274 on a QNAP TS-216G (linux-arm64), installed from the QNAP App Center.

My content directory is:

/share/Music

MinimServer indexes my MP3 files correctly, but it cannot index any of my WMA files. Any folder containing only WMA files is completely absent from MinimServer's Folder View.

The WMA files are standard Windows Media Audio files, and they play normally in MusicBee. This is not limited to a particular album or file — none of my WMA files are being indexed by MinimServer.

As an example, one of the affected files is:

MP3s Thomas/Thomas/1349/Hellfire/01 I Am Abomination.wma

This particular file has normal metadata:

Title: I Am Abomination
Artist: 1349
Album: Hellfire
Track: 01
Genre: Black Metal

The above file is just one example of the many WMA files that are not being indexed.

I enabled .logLevel=trace to investigate. MinimServer clearly sees and scans the WMA files. For example, the log shows:

visitFile file=/share/Music/MP3s Thomas/Thomas/1349/Hellfire/01 I Am Abomination.wma

and subsequently:

found file 01 I Am Abomination.wma

It does this for all eight WMA files in that folder.

However, after scanning the directory, it reports:

finished scanning metadata in Hellfire
finished scanning directory Hellfire
removing folder [8] Hellfire

There are no WMA-related errors or warnings in the log.

So MinimServer finds the WMA files but does not create any indexed music items from them, resulting in the entire folder being removed from Folder View.

I've rescanned both MinimServer and the WiiM several times, with no change.

Why would MinimServer find the WMA files but not index any of them? Is there a QNAP-specific issue or configuration required for WMA indexing?

1. I run Minimserver on my Synolgy NAS. This works fine but after a (long) time Kazoo can no longer see the server. The NAS can no longer be reached by Minimserver but -worse perhaps -no longer by my browser either. It s problably a setting on the NAS, but I can't find a solution.
2. I would like to be able to control Minimserver from my laptop runniing on Linux Zorin. What app works best?

Lumin app remote access via Tailscale

I'm running MinimServer 2.2 update 274 on a Synology NAS (DS214Play, DSM 7), and trying to access it remotely via Tailscale (a WireGuard-based mesh VPN) from the Lumin app on Android while away from home.

The NAS has a Tailscale address. In the Lumin app's MinimServer remote access settings, I've set the Remote Host to the same address.
The Minimserver appears in Lumin as "remote connected," but is greyed out, and nothing can be browsed or played.

I checked that direct http access works from the same phone and the DMS's firewall rules allow the Tailscale subnet and the required port. I changed ohnet.subnet to blank but there was no improvement.

I found an older thread on this forum ("Minimserver offline in Lumin app, but still accessible") where it was explained that control points maintain their belief that MinimServer is online via periodic UPnP "alive" multicast messages, and that if those are blocked, the app shows the server as offline after 30–60 minutes even though it's genuinely reachable.

I guess that this is my problem too but is there a way around this or a way to use the lumin app in location B while the minimserver and the NAS are in location A?

Hi,

The "Error -MinimStreamer: transcode setting '*:L16' requires a converter"
appeared when I logged into my QNAP HS-264 this morning.

I'm not aware of anything that has changed from the previous day when every thing was working ok with no error messages.

Any help appreciated.

DisplayFormat, Help Wanted

The album time should now be displayed with: Album [Album time • Date • Quality]
