I am trying to buy a license as a dealer on behalf of a friend (a customer).
Today, however, I find that the following two pages are exactly the same - I am unable to enter both emailadresses: the customers as well as my own.

2 servers with a Wiim?

Sorry if this has been addressed before. I did search but might be using the wrong terminology.
I have an iMac with an external HDD containing my ripped CD collection and use Minimserver (free version so far) to access this wirelessly on my HiFi with a Wiim Pro Plus streamer. It works very well.
I now want to extend the facility so that my wife’s ripped CD library (also on the same HDD but in a different folder) appears as a *separate* home music share server within the Wiim app. Is this possible?
Not sure if it’s a Minimserver or a Wiim question.

Minimwatch on Apple Silicon

Hi all
I run Minimwatch 2.2, update 119 every couple of month on my MacBook Pro running Tahoe 26.4.1. - just to check on my Raspberry Musicserver running minimserver 2.2, update 274
Recently, a popup window appears upon start of Minimwatch letting me know that support for Intel-based apps will end in future version of macOs.
As I understand it, Minimwatch 2.2 is for Intel and Apple Silicon.
Can I disregard that pop-up message?

Hi,
For some reson all my playlists in M3U8 format have stopped working and are showing as error as unknown folder. I have not changed anything apart from a new Win11 pc added to my network. MinimSever is running on Synology NAS. Below is a sample taken from a playlist. All the music scans correctly but none of the playlists work anymore.

Radio Stream downstreaming and metadata

Hi Simon,
Can Ministreamer downstream a radio stream (say from 192k to 48k)? Also is there any way to send the metadata (song, artist) for internet radio streams?

A quick search seems both are nay but just wanted to check if I am missing something.

Unable to see my renderer (Auralic Aries)

Hi,

I'm running a test version of Minim on my NAS.
With connect light I'm only seeing my Samsung TV as a UPnP Device but not my Auralic.
When testing Roon I was immediately able to see the latter so I woud expect this to happen as well on the minim server.

Anyone a clue to what might be wrong? I really would like to test the minim server as I was not so satisfied about Roon.

PUBLISHER tag in Index Tags trouble

I've added the "PUBLISHER" tag to Index Tags, but I'm having a problem. Only entries in the following format: Columbia\Sony Music are displayed in the "PUBLISHER" tab and only information after the "\\". is displayed. Entries without the "\\" are not indexed. What should I do to index entries like "Sony Music"?

We use Virgin Media to supply internet - digits good and fast but support pathetic.
Recently negotiated a new contract and they said "you'd better have a new hub".
It arrived by post and I installed it. Called Hub 5.
Much faster - 250 Mb/s.
But what I was not expecting was a noticeable improvement in my digital hifi system.
Which is Linn Klimax DS, old pizza box style with organic and utopik boards. Fed by my Melco N1/A, Melco switch, opto-coupler.

Anyone had similar experiences?

License error: missing serial number

Hi, I have two QNAP TS-230s, both run the same software versions. On one of them minimserver (now with full licence) works perfectly, on the other one it didn't before and I can't add the licence as it claims that: "License error: missing serial number." I can't get it to work, I uninstalled and installed it again several times, the "Licence" tab is basically unaccesible. Any idea how to get it to work? Thanks.

Connection to MinimServer takes >5 min

Since the last update 274 of MinimServer (running on Synology NAS) it takes more than 5 min to establish the connection to MinimWatch on my Win11 laptop or any media player. I did not change anything in any configuration. The server from AudioStation connects as before (< 120 sec).

MinimServer on Docker on QNAP. Won't start clean.

I am trying to setup MinimServer in a Docker container on my QNAP NAS. I used what knowledge I have, but could not get it to work, so asked claude.ai if it could help me figure out was going wrong. It did many tests but failed also. So I asked Claude what I should ask the forum. Here's what he said....

I am running MinimServer in a Docker container on a QNAP NAS using the official minimworld/minimserver:2.2 image. I have no native MinimServer installation — this is a clean Docker-only setup.

The container starts, auto-updates to update 274, relaunches, and then immediately exits with this error:

MinimServer shared folder on host is not shared with this container
MinimServer: startup error

My compose.yml is:

Is there a way to disable auto-update so the container stays on 2.2 without update 274?
What is the correct Docker setup for a clean install with no pre-existing native MinimServer folder?

Display chosen text if Tag field is blank

Just wondering how I can display a pre determined text if the Tag field is empty (perhaps using the TagUpdate)?

Apologies if this has already been cvered but struggling to find the answer.

I use MEDIATYPE tag for Vinyl, Mp3, Box Set, Single etc. However this is a recent addition to how I do my library and I have thousands of files with the MEDIATYPE tag left empty. As these were digital rips, I wish to insert Digital, currently it shows as [unknown].

I am new to this forum and just bought minim server

I have 2 problems.

1. Discnumber
I wopuld like to separate the discs in multiple discs with discnumbers. I have the files tagged correctly
The meaning is that the interface shall show
Disc 1
01
02
Here meaning the titles on the album and hereafter disc 2

I hope someone can help mead with code and what to do

2. More than 100 tracks
When I have an album with more than 100 tracks the interface shows the tracks with display of cover instead of a list numbered with the tracks as in single albums

What do I do here ?

Help deciphering log

Hello

Can someone please help me and explain the tag faults in my log.

I had just added a few albums to my collection and and performed a rescan. However, the scan took 20+ minutes and old albums were now showing in recently added along with the new ones.

I downloaded the log below, but didn't understand what the problem is.

I then restarted minimserver and done a fresh rescan and the faults are no longer in the log. Does this mean they are no longer there or do they still require addressing?

indexArtwort for alphagroup

Hi all

I am using the properties:
alphagroup: artist
serverOptions: artworkFolder=000_ Artwork

In that folder I put on top-level a picture for each letter "A", "B", etc.

In order to avoid, that an image file is used for a different tag, which has the same value (e.g. arists and albumname are the same, but you want one for the artists and one for the cover-artwork), you can create subfolders with the tagname as the foldername.

I am wondering, if that is also possible for the alphagrouping?
What would the required folder-name be?

In my case I have the issue, that the image for letter "M" is now being used for the track "Pop Muzik" from the band "M" as well.

Tagging Issues for a JPLAY user

I have purchased a full license now. While trying to follow the steps on UpnpCustom configuration section, I got an error when I copied and pasted the roleTags and multiTags. When I tried to save the entries, the text that I entered in the box is all red and I was unable to save it.

I followed the tags provided on JPLAY user guide page: https://jplay.app/userguide

Tags that I was trying to add:

roleTags={AlbumArtist,Composer,Soloists,Conductor,Orchestra,Ensemble,Choir}

Group and classical music

Dear all, this is a real SOS for grouping my classical music tracks. I lost my previous configuration that did exactly what i wanted. I tried to use ChatGPT and i can say it led nowhere.
In Title, i have catalogue reference RV 486, for example for a Vivaldi Track
In movement, i have 1. Allegro or 2. Andante
Tracks are consecutive and can be over multiple discs for opera for example.
When i browse my database, i would like when i click on an album to see RV 486 as a group. And when i play RV 486, get the three tracks related to this work in my playlist.
My minimserver is on a synology server. I tried to create an update.txt because i can't find the right line to create group on the web interface. But honestly i am nowhere and the documentation of the user guide is not more explicit on where and how to create groups.
Thank for your help, i gave up after 6 hours of tries

Server not showing NDX2/Mac mini - ? Java issue

New user trying to get minimserver 2.2 working. I’ve installed the latest apps (2.2f5) on my Mac mini m1 ( Tahoe 26.3.1). I updated my Java to v26. Minumserver icon is black & minimwatch icon is brown. No errors showing apart from playlist file errors (m3u). The server is not showing up on the Naim ndx2 even though it says it’s running. I’ve tried many restarts and reboots but nothing to rectify issue. I even asked ChatGPT and it had me installing Java v21 and tweaking things but again no joy.

Anybody able to help me?

I’ve tried to remove the files and reinstall but there must be some hidden files somewhere because the newer install always knows where my music files are. a full remove and reinstall might help. Can anyone tell me how to do this.
