There was a small mistake with building the PPC and x86 versions. I have refreshed them now. Please try doing the download and installation again.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I had some files in the wrong folder when I built the PPC and x86 versions this morning. I've fixed this and built all three versions again. You shouldn't need to reinstall DSM or Java, just MinimServer.

RE: UTF-8 at Synology NAS (PPC)
Since I upgraded Java to 1.7.0_45, Minim has a problem with UTF-8 (not found) but the Java log tells me it's there.
What's wrong?

O. Didn't see the updated v0.72 of minim. That version works fine, even with the latest update of the DS that became available yesterday.

I'd changed following variables within the "/etc/profile" file:
LANG=de_DE.utf8
LC_ALL=de_DE.utf8

and add LC_ALL to the "export" line.

Now it works perfect.

Thanks for reporting this problem.

My guess is that either MinimServer or the patters Java package might not be fully compatible with DSM 4.3. In DSM 4.3, locale support is included for the first time. Because of the previous lack of locale support in DSM, both the MinimServer package and the patters Java package contain workaround code to enable locale support themselves. It's possible that something in this workaround code isn't doing the right thing on DSM 4.3.

Has anyone else running DSM 4.3 noticed a similar problem? The message at the start of the MinimServer log should say:

Platform default charset is UTF-8

If the message says US-ASCII instead, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi. New to this NAS music thing and I was recommended Minimserver by someone over at AVForums. I use BubbleUPnP on my android phone, have Minimserver on my Synology 213+ and using an Oppo103.

I'm trying to shuffle play my entire music collection which is all in FLAC and in Artist/Album folders format but I'm unable to do this.

I was getting a warning message in my NAS about UTF-8 and checked the Minimserver log and it says - 'Platform default Charset US=ASCII'.

DSM is the latest version. Minimserver 0.72. Java version 1.7.0_45-0021

Any help would be appreciated.

A fix for this problem has been posted earlier in this thread. See this post.

RE: UTF-8 at Synology NAS (PPC)
This fix has now been officially released as the following downloads on the main download page:

MinimServer-0.72.2-arm.spk
MinimServer-0.72.2-ppc.spk
MinimServer-0.72.2-x86.spk

These downloads are identical to the test build, so you don't need to install them if you already have the test build installed.
