Simon

I using Lighting DS with Synology DSM7.2, recently it stop playing some songs (files) and it play a few others. It can stream and I can play the same files from a MacMini. Any idea of what is going on?

RE: Lighting DS
If you power the NAS off and on, does this help?

RE: Lighting DS
What exactly is happening? Does the song start and then stop or does it not start at all?

Also, what model of Synology NAS do you have?

RE: Lighting DS
I haven't seen any other reports of streaming problems when using DSM 7.3. Please do the following to help me identify the cause of the problem:

1) Start playing a few albums from your NAS
2) From Synology Package Center, open the MinimServer configuration web page
3) Select the Properties tab, then select the System tab
4) Set the .logLevel property to debug, then click the Save button
5) Wait until MinimServer stops playing music
6) In Synology File Station, select the MinimServer/appData folder
7) Download the minimserver.log file from this folder
8) Zip or compress the minimserver.log file (this step is important) and attach the compressed file to a forum post. Don't try to copy data from this file into a forum post.
9) Set the .logLevel property back to its original value of info

I will look at the compressed log file and let you know what I find.

RE: Lighting DS
Thanks for this. The log file looks fine. It shows that MinimServer streamed this file to your player device:

Beethoven Odyssey, Vol. 2/02 - Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op.13 Pathetique - II. Adagio cantabile.flac

This file was streamed successfully from MinimServer to the player with no errors. There were no further streaming requests from the player.

Was this file played either partially or completely by the player?

RE: Lighting DS
It was played completly, but its the only only disc that comes through the system. All others are streamed, but no sound comes out. It can stream from Tidal and the sound comes through he system. I am currently using an Aries (Auralic), I switched streamers to a Denon HEOS and it returns ‘playback error’ on all files. I also switched the control app from Lighting DS to Lumin with similar results. I will play one of the files that do not sound and post another log file to see if there is something different. Thanks for your help!
