Help needed setting up Minimstreamer for SRC...
Hi there

Just wondering if someone could help or point me to any information available on how to set up Minimstreamer to do sample rate conversion? Is there a setup guide available anywhere?

Up until now I have been using Minimserver to stream native files to my various endpoints. I am now also using a Tannoy TDX-1, which only accepts either 44.1 or 48khz, so need to employ some type of Src.

Any help most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

There are full details of how to do this in this section of the MinimStreamer user guide. The description of sample rate conversion follows the list of output types.

Many thanks for your help.

Am I right in thinking that in this case it is best to convert everything to 24/44? (Only 44.1 and 48 compatible.) Also, is FFMpeg the better of the two options to use? I am using Minimserver on a Windows 11 MiniPC.

Thanks again.

RE: Help needed setting up Minimstreamer for SRC...
It is usually best to convert to an exact fraction or multiple of the original sample rate, so I would suggest converting 88/176/352 to 44 and converting 96/192/384 to 48. If your DAC supports 24-bit, extending the bit depth to 24 is recommended.

Any change in sample rate causes FFmpeg to be selected automatically. If you are usng FFmpeg for this purpose, you might as well use it all conversions. The internal converter avoids the need to install FFmpeg but has very limited functionality.
