Feature Suggestion: Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect
Hi Simon. Would it be possible to add Tidal Connect and/or Qobuz Connect functionality to Minimserver2.2?

I subscribe to Tidal and Qobuz. Of the two "Connect" options, I would vote for Tidal Connect as the more important, given that most of the control-point apps for Mac (Linn, Lumin, and its variants) do not seem to offer Tidal, at least not for a Melco N1ZH running Minimserver2.2.

Thanks very much for your consideration.

RE: Feature Suggestion: Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect
After two weeks and 364 views (so far) since my August 23rd post, no one has chimed in, so I conclude reluctantly that there no broad need for Tidal Connect or Qobuz Connect, even assuming it is theoretically possible to add them to Minimserver2.2.

RE: Feature Suggestion: Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect
Apologies for the slow reply. As I understand it, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect are control-point apps that use proprietary protocols to communicate with the TIDAL and Qobuz cloud servers. MinimServer is a server application, not a control-point app, so it would be out of scope to try to add this control-point functionality to it.

I have looked at what would be involved in making MinimServer able to access the Qobuz cloud server and stream music from it. This makes more sense technically because in this scenario MinimServer would be acting as a server. Unfortunately this is not technically possible because of some elements of the Qobuz API that need to be implemented by either a renderer or possibly a control point but cannot be implemented by a server.

The Melco HD app should be able to stream both TIDAL and Qobuz to the Melco internal USB DAC renderer.

RE: Feature Suggestion: Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect
Hi Simon, and thanks for the reply. I have tried the Melco HD app for iPad, including the latest version, and I find it to be buggy, unstable and crash-prone.

My planned workaround is to get an Android-based tablet and use BubbleUPnP.

I use Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect with my WiiM Ultra and Auralic Aries G2 streamers. I may be using incorrect terminology, but I would not describe Tidal Connect or Qobuz Connect as control-point apps. In the case of both WiiM and Auralic, the manufacturers added Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect functionality to their OS software, thus enabling users to stream to these devices directly from the official/existing/standard Tidal and Qobuz apps.

Apparently, no one else on this Forum is interested in the theoretical concept of Tidal Connect or Qobuz Connect functionality for MinimServer2.2, so I respectfully withdraw the feature suggestion.

Thanks again, Simon.

RE: Feature Suggestion: Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect
When Wiim is using TIDAL Connect or Qobuz Connect to stream audio from TIDAL or Qobuz, it is acting as a control point and also as a renderer (in terms of the protocols it is using). MinimServer does not implement any control-point or renderer functionality.

Hi Simon. Understood, and I figured it was a long shot. Thanks.
