Will MinimServer Continue?
In the light of Linns foray into media servers, do you intend to continue with your developments, or do you hope to influence Linn to adopt your requirements?

RE: Will MinimServer Continue?
I'm planning to continue. The next version of MinimServer will be released very soon, with many new features and some bug fixes. After that, I have a few more things on my list that I want to add to future releases. I'm sure there will be some user requests as well!
![]() My next major milestone is to reach release 1.0 which will be the first full (non-beta) release. I think that's likely to happen in about two to three months. After that, future development will depend on how many people are using MinimServer. If everyone (or nearly everyone) decides that they prefer Linn's media server, I'll have to think seriously about whether it's worth doing further work on MinimServer. Actually, I think one of the most effective ways to influence Linn is to continue with MinimServer. There's nothing like a bit of competition to motivate everyone to improve their offerings (myself included!) ![]() |

RE: Will MinimServer Continue?
Thanks, I am glad that you intend to continue, I think your approach to the searching / trees issues is more effective than anything else I have come across. It works very reliably and the MinimWatch control provides great flexibility.
Looking forward to the next release, thanks again for all your efforts. David |
