RE: Startup Problems
Thanks for sending the file. I have sent you a PM with details of how to install a test build that should fix the problem.

RE: Startup Problems
Thanks for letting me know about this. This problem is caused by the same issue that is causing license activation to fail but the solution is slightly different and I need to do further work to fix it. Another user had this issue when installing the test build while using a VPN and was able to work around it by doing the following:
1) Disable the VPN 2) Follow the instructions to install the test build 3) Enable the VPN 4) Activate the license |

RE: Startup Problems
VPN fix worked for me too.
I'll run for a week and provide an update. Regards |

RE: Startup Problems
This morning I have :
Clicking 'OK' does nothing and the prompt remains in view. Stays in view. When trying to access configuration, I get: Closing removes the 'OK' display then reopening configuration works. Then after a while the 'OK' prompt pops up again and again clicking 'OK' does nothing and the prompt remains in view. Regards |

RE: Startup Problems
Thanks for letting me know about this. MinimServer shows this "please wait" message when the firewall is doing a verification check.
It is possible that the message dialog you are seeing (with both kinds of dialog) might be overlaid on another identical dialog, so that closing the top dialog reveals another dialog undereath it. To verify this, please click the OK button repeatedly (perhaps as many as 10 times) to see if the dialog disappears. If this is what is happening, I will look into how to make sure that multiple instances of the dialog are not displayed. I haven't been able to do as much testing of this as I would like because I don't get the firewall verification with my setup. The firewall verification seems to happen when MinimServer is accessed via a VPN. Which VPN do you use? I would like to try using the same VPN to see if I can make this happen here. |

RE: Startup Problems
The 'OK' does indeed have multiple instances at the start. It has also started popping up at apparently random times thereafter.
When I started using MinimServer several years ago I used 'CyberGhost' using LT2P protocol and never had this issue. I have been using 'Private Internet Access' using WireGuard protocol since June last year (faster and more reliable) and have only started getting this issue over the past few weeks. As far as I am aware PIA has not been updated since I started using it, or if it has then it has been through transparent updates. According to their changelog for Win x64 v3.6.0 rolled out changes in Jun 24 and v3.6.1. in Sep 24. I am on v3.5.7 but this is mainly for Mac or Linux updates. I am on FTTP cable with an unlimited up to 1Gb service via CityFibre which has been rock solid. I'll change to OpenVPN protocol to see if that makes any difference. Regards |

RE: Startup Problems
Thanks for this very helpful information. I have installed PIA 3.5.7 on Windows 11 and connected via the default country (Iceland). With this setup, I have been able to activate a full license and install a MinimServer update without seeing any pop-ups or error messages. Which country are you using?
