New user - Messed up already
Hello all
I had been running minimserver on one of my Melco players and noticed in JPLAY (on Mac) that the refresh wasn't capturing new music I had added (DSD files for example were not showing up). I checked in JPLAY settings to see where it was looking for the minimserver and noticed the end number of the port were 1 digit out 9791 vs the default 9790 in the Melco. Here is the problem, in the settings in the minimserver dashboard I changed the 9790 to 9791 hoping to fix things. Now I cant see it anywhere in JPLAY or on the dashboard if I try to login using both options 9790 or 9791? I have looked at the Melco and it still shows to use 9790 but not finding anything. Purely user error on my part and need assistance from more IT literate users please. Cheers in advance Mark |

RE: New user - Messed up already
MinimServer uses port 9790 for HTTP communication (the http.port property) and port 9791 for ohNet UPnP communication (the ohnet.port property). If you have changed the http.port setting to 9791, you will not be able to use the MinimServer configuration web page until you change this setting.
On most platforms it would be possible to recover from this by directly modifying MinimServer's configuration files. This isn't possible on a Melco because the Melco doesn't provide users with access to the internal file system where MinimServer configuration files are stored. I think the only way round this "catch 22" situation is to install MinimWatch on another computer on your local network and use the MinimWatch Properties dialog to change the http.port value back to 9790. For information about how to install and use MinimWatch, see this page and this section. When you have MinimServer running again, you need to do a MinimServer rescan every time you add new music before you do a JPLAY refresh. To prevent this happening to other users in future, I will look into adding a check to prevent the user from setting http.port to the same value as ohnet.port (and vice versa). |

RE: New user - Messed up already
I'm sorry about that. I have tried to find an easier solution but without success.
