Minimwatch icon with red background
I have just noticed that my Minimwatch icon has a red background. Hovering my cursor over the icon I receive the message "MinimServer (Johns-Macbook-Pro-M3Max.local): content directory path is empty". Clicking on the icon and then on Properties I opened the Server Properties screen which indeed shows that contentdirectory is empty.
I have downloaded (and paid for!) MinimServer 2.2 and recently successfully updated to the r4 version after having upgraded my MacBook to the Sequoia OS. But looking at the page in the MinimServer page which tells me which version I have it says that I have the Version 2.2 Starter edition with its limited functionality. My MinimServer application is hosted on my QNAP NAS269 server where all my music is saved. In Linn's app I can still access my music through the Minimserver icon. So I am puzzled. What has happened? I am not sure what the full content directory I should enter in the Server Properties screen. Can you help please? |

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
It sounds like you might have installed MinimServer on your MacBook in addition to running MinimServer on your QNAP. Do you want to run two instances of MinimServer for some reason?
If not, you should delete MinimServer from your MacBook and install MinimWatch 2.2.r4 on your MacBook. After this, everything should be working as it was previously. |

Do you want to run two instances of MinimServer for some reason? Dear Simon, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I see that when I installed the r4 version of Minimserver I did it on my Macbook. I do not want to run a second instance of Minimserver on the Macbook so I will delete it. But I need to check that I have the r4 version on the QNAP. I will do all that tomorrow as it is late here in Luxembourg! I already have MinimWatch 2.2r4 on my Macbook. Thanks as always for your help. Thanks for help. |

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
The 2.2.r4 version is for macOS only. You can't install it on your QNAP.

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
Found this thread because I had the same thing happening when I launched Minimwatch this morning on my M2 Macbook (red background in icon). Based on this thread I checked properties and nothing unusual, also checked logs (nothing) and 'show updates' (nothing) so I ran a scan and it's back to normal.
Just FYI... :-) |

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
If it happens again, please post the message from the red icon (hover the mouse cursor over the icon and the message will appear).

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
Following on from my earlier posts on this topic......
I successfully updated Minimwatch to version 2.2.r4 on my Macbook M3, and it has been working very well. But yesterday, after downloading some music files I tried to open Minimwatch so that I could see the files on my Linn app and I received the message "You can't open the application "Minimwatch" because it is not responding". Should I re-boot my Macbook and see if that solves the problem, or do I need to delete and re-install Minimwatch 2.2.r4? Thanks for your help....! |

RE: Minimwatch icon with red background
I would start with a reboot. This usually fixes this type of problem.
