RE: Getting MinimServer to ignore 'The' before band names
As per my earlier post replace {The} with {The,THE,the}

The folder.sortTags option controls sorting of items (audio files) within a folder. It doesn't control sorting of folders. This is because a folder has no tags. You might know you named the folder to match an artist name but to MinimServer it is just a folder.

RE: Getting MinimServer to ignore 'The' before band names
Ok, thank you. I almost thought so. I have now reverted the folder sorting property because I saw that it (certainly) results in alphabetical order of the tracks inside the album folder instead of by track number.

Peter, giving alternatives of "the" makes sense. I would also include brackets and apostrophes, etc. But I am not sure if it is better to have the same ordering in the folder view as in other indexes, or if I let ignore some characters in the other indexes only.

RE: Getting MinimServer to ignore 'The' before band names
Requiring all users to specify alternative versions of "The" (and other prefixes) doesn't feel right to me. Instead, MinimServer could always do a case-insensitive comparison for "ignore" prefixes. Is there any situation where this would not be desirable?

I, too, think that it is very unlikely that case insensitive matching was a problem. I am not yet really using this option, but the only cases I have found until now is „The“ and some special none alphanumeric characters.
