Thanks for this. I will delete your duplicate post in the Administration thread.

The log shows that there is some circular link in your file system that is causing MinimServer to scan the same folders and files repeatedly. What setting do you have for the MinimServer contentDir property?

/share/Multimedia

I can't open this folder on my PC to view the contents, so is this due to the rescan running? and how do I stop the scan?

You can stop the scan by going to App Center and selecting Stop for the MinimServer app. This will stop MinimServer completely.

After this, please check the directory structure under /share/Multimedia to see if there are any links that could create an endless cycle of rescanning.

I cannot login to the TS112 at all now, either using QFinder or Windows Explorer.

Any suggestions or do I simply hit the power button?

I think hitting the power button is the right thing to do. I hope the problem does not occur again when you power the NAS back on.

RE: QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
I managed to get the TS112 working again and attach a screenshot of the Multimedia directories.

I have used QNAP Hybrid Backup Sync to backup from TS253A to TS112 and you can see the structure it saves.

I also use HBS to backup from TS253A and TS251B and Minimserver (and Bubblesoft) recognise 251B HBS files and will play music

RE: QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
By selecting /share/Multimedia as your content directory, you are telling MinimServer to scan everything under that directory including all your Remote Backup and TS253A Multimedia Backup directories.

To make Minimserver work correctly, you need to select a directory containing a single copy of the files in your music library. This should be a lower-level directory under /share/Multimedia, perhaps something like this:

/share/Multimedia/TS253A Multimedia Backup_1/201902021018/Multimedia

This is just an example and you will probably want to select a newer backup date to get a more current snapshot of your library.

This will only work correctly if the backup is an exact copy of the original files. If the backup is in some other format, selecting a single backup directory might cause the endless scanning loop that you saw previously. Why are you scanning a backup disk instead of the original files?

RE: QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
At the moment, I can't stop Minimserver to make changes to the directory use as I cannot log into the TS112 from my PC, laptop or tablet using Qfinder.

Advice would be much appreciated

If MinimServer is in the scanning loop again, you will need to use the power button.
