QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
I have an old QNAP TS-112 that currently runs Twonky, but can I replace this with Minimserver?

To install MinimServer on your TS-112, follow the instructions in this section. You need the ARMv5 download.

I was once advised that when you install minim alongside twonky, make sure that twonky is left switched off - or at least set to non-automatic rescanning.

This will give your processor and disk drive less work to do. In some circumstances this could result in an improvement in SQ.

TS112 firmware is limited to 4.x.x rather than the latest 5.x.x. Soes this make any difference?

MinimServer works on 4.x.x firmware as well as 5.x.x. You can use App Center to remove Twonky.

There is an app called Qfinderpro which I find is the best way of configuring the 112.

RE: QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
I got the firmware updated to latest (Final) version, removed Twonky and installed Minimwatch. The HD is unchanged and contains abour 2.5TB of music.

Opening page shows no scans so I hit Rescan and it is now into the third day without completion.

Is this normal or should I be doing something?

MinimWatch recognises the TS112 and shows it is starting ,the original library location is found but says there are errors .

Is there a Minimserver log and and how can I attach it here?

Update

I managed to find the log and saved it, although I had to add a .txt suffix to be able to see it. However I cannot get it to attach here, s o please can you advise?

RE: QNAP TS-112 Minimserver compatible?
First, you need to zip or compress the log file. You can then attach the compressed file to a forum post as described in this forum post.
