I too am having the same problem. I have downloaded the r3 version and followed your instructions up to step 4. On opening the app I am asked to confirm that i want to proceed as it is an app downloaded from the internet. I click continue but the app does not open. Have other people experienced this?

After confirming, you should see an "musical note" icon in the menu bar. Nothing else will happen.

Hi Simon. Thats the problem - don't see the icon at all hence my post. However if I launch the earlier version of minimwatch I do see a greyed out icon but NOT with your release 3

All works as far as 'Refresh' which doesn't and leaves the MinimWatch icon greyed out. However my old trick of putting the system to sleep and immediately reawakening it brings MinimWatch awake and functional.

David

Did you try step 11?

Toggled MW Off then On again in Local Nework and the tried Refresh - no change in greyed out icon status

Sleep and Wake trick still works to activate MW.

Thanks for confirming. It's good to have alternative workarounds available. It would be even better if Apple could fix this so that it works properly without the need for workarounds.

I have followed all instructions on the Apple website for how to enable local network and multicast permission. Some attempts have come close but none has worked correctly. I am currently rewriting the macOS launcher for MinimServer and MinimWatch in the hope that this might provide a solution.

I do hope that you are getting some help from Apple on this. Whilst it is easy to work around the lack of MinimWatch, I am unable to find a way to see MinimServer from anywhere other than the local Mac on which it is running.

I have seen the links to test software to resolve MinimWatch icons but for many the lack of MinimServer fix is more urgent.

Kind regards

I am testing a possible workaround for MinimServer on Sequoia. Are you running both MinimWatch and MinimServer on Sequoia or just running MinimServer?

RE: Minimwatch is greyed out on Mac Sequoia
I have a test build that should provide a workaround for MinimServer not working correctly on Sequoia 15 and 15.0.1. If you are not running MinimWatch on the same macOS computer that you are using to run MinimServer, follow the instructions below. This is not the final solution but it might help some people to get up and running.

To install and run the test build, do the following:

1) If you have already installed MinimServer 2.2, drag this to the trash
2) Download the test build from this link
3) Open the .dmg file and drag MinimServer to the Applications folder
4) Launch MinimServer
5) If you see a prompt to allow access to SystemUIServer, accept this
6) You should see a prompt to allow local network access. Accept this.
7) You should see an entry for MinimServer in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, with access enabled
8) Exit MinimServer and launch it again
9) MinimServer should now be visible to other devices on the network

If you restart macOS after doing the above, do the following:

10) If MinimServer is not visible to other devices on the network, exit MinimServer and relaunch it. You might need to do this a few times.

If you are running MinimWatch and MinimServer on the same macOS computer, you can follow the same instructions but be aware that Sequoia gets confused and creates only one icon in the Local Network list for whichever of MinimWatch or MinimServer was installed and started first. This is clearly incorrect but it doesn't seem to prevent both MinimWatch and MinimServer accessing the local network.

I will investigate these issues further and report bugs to Apple when I have narrowed them down sufficiently to create scenarios that can be easily reproduced.

Thank you Simon. Minimserver is now working well on OS Sequoia

RE: Minimwatch is greyed out on Mac Sequoia
I have MinimServer running on my Synology NAS.
Only MinimWatch is running on my Mac under Sequoia 15.0.1.

You should follow the instructions in this post if you haven't already done this.
