Minim not passing through embedded artwork?

RE: Minim not passing through embedded artwork?
To see correct artwork with the test build, you need to do a full rescan as follows:

1) Set the startupScan property to full
2) Do a rescan

A normal rescan won't find the artwork because the files affected by this issue haven't been modified since the last scan, so MinimServer won't read them. A full rescan tells MinimServer to read all files including those that haven't been modified.

You only need to do the full rescan once.

Sorry for the late response - for some reason I didn't get a notify of your reply.

Good news ! All the Beatles artwork now appears where it didn't before SmileSmile

Now I understand why the rescans have been so quick - good to see a programmer doing the best thing, ie just look at anything new in depth.

It does highlight where artwork hasn't gone in at my end. I've just added art to an album missing such - via Mp3Tag - with no other changes.
Will that be seen as "new", or will such require a further full scan ?

On that topic, I overwrote the startupScan property to full, as advised - will it stay that way until I put it back to the original setting ?
It occurs to me that I didn't note the original setting value - please advise !

RE: Minim not passing through embedded artwork?
After a full rescan, MinimServer automatically resets the startupScan property to the default value of true.

With the startupScan property set to true, MinimServer scans files that are newly added and files that have been modified since they were last scanned, based on the "last modified" date of the file and/or the file size. When a tagging program adds artwork or changes tag values, it should update the file's "last modified" date. Some tagging programs have an option to not change the "last modified" date, so make sure this option isn't set.

Yes, that accords with my setup, a rescan (very fast) got the newly tagged artwork AOK. Most excellent Smile

This fix is available now in MinimServer update 254.
