Hi, many thanks for posting these screenshots, I think we are getting closer now Smile
It seems that Safari has extracted the *.tar.gz file after downloading. Please follow exactly the previous advice from Simon:

If so, please uncheck this box, delete your current downloaded Java SE Embedded file, and download the Java SE Embedded file again. Does this produce a file with a .tar.gz extension?

Delete the current file from the public folder and upload the newly downloaded file. Then try to install Java again.

From one of your screenshots it seems that you've MinimServer installed. This means that you've installed Java successfully another time. Please note that Java is required permanently by MinimServer. You shouldn't uninstall Java while MinimServer is installed.

RE: Minimwatch etc.
If you mean General under Security and Privacy I already have allowed applications downloaded from anywhere but will try again.I only uninstalled following advice on a previous post that I was running 7 rather than 6.

Please read the advice carefully. It basically says:
1) In Safari, go to preferences, general page
2) Untick/deactivate the following checkbox: 'Open "safe" files after downloading'
3) redownload the file

Please verify the file size of the newly downloaded file, it should be approximately 32 MB.

This is not the size of the file required by the Java packge. As mentioned above, it should be approximately 32 MB. It seems that there goes something wrong with the download process in Safari.

Please try the following:
1) Install Mozilla Firefox according to this short video tutorial.
2) Download the Java file again using Mozilla Firefox.
3) Make sure that you download the correct file and that its file size is approximately 32 MB.
4) Upload the newly downloaded file to the public folder of your NAS and reinstall Java.

Thanks for your patience. It is a valuable information that Safari causes these problems when downloading the Java binaries.

To run MinimWatch on the Mac, you need to have Apple Java 6 installed on the Mac. If you have Oracle Java 7 installed on the Mac, MinimWatch won't open. Please do the following:

1) If you have Oracle Java 7 installed on the Mac, uninstall it.
2) Install Apple Java 6 on the Mac as described in the 'Installing Java' section of this page. Please follow the instructions in this section very carefully.

Do not change anything on the Synology.
