index Tags greyed out
Hi

Just upgraded from 0.8.5 to 2.2 (I think the NAS still reports 2.1.2 - although its shown as not used in the packages tab on properties)

The indexTags (and options after it) are greyed out on Server tabs in properties and (I think) as a result the album list is not in the order I'd like ... (Album Artitst, Album). Do I need to licence the product now, if so where is the doc for that ?

Also I think there was a way to get minim server to ignore 'The' in the names of Artists - but I cant remember how to do that - any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

Ian

RE: index Tags greyed out
What NAS are you using? If it is a QNAP NAS running an older level of QTS, QNAP does not keep App Center fully up to date and this is why you are seeing 2.1.2 as the App Center version. Despite this, you are on the latest 2.2 version because MinimServer has updated itself internally.

If you did not install MinimServer 0.8.5 before you updated, you should still have the same configuration properties that you had previously, including your changes to indexTags and the correct setting to ignore 'The' in artist names. You will not see these settings displayed until you activate a trial or full license.

To activate a free 30-day trial license, open the MinimServer configuration web page (not the MinimWatch properties page), select the License tab and click 'Activate trial license.' You should now see all your previous property settings and be able to make any changes needed.

At some time before the end of your 30-day trial, you will need to purchase a full license by visiting this page. To activate this license, follow the instructions you will receive in your license certificate email.

RE: index Tags greyed out
It is a licence requirement - adding a trial licence opens up the greyed out boxes.

Its also restored the bit which skips 'The' in the name - all.ignore.sort={The},Album.sortTags={AlbumArtist, Album} in tagOptions

No further action required at present.

Thanks Simon

Found the licence info and it seems to be working as expected. WRT the full licence slightly confused by some of the wording - at present I just want minim server, does that require a yearly renewal as one page says it doesn't expire ?

I updated the QTS firmware to the latest available for the QNAP I have, minim still shows an older version than is actually installed - I'm not really concerned it just seems odd, maybe a restart of the QNAP will fix that ...

Thanks again

Ian

The full license does not expire. Your entitlement to receive MinimServer updates expires after 12 months unless you extend this.

Which QNAP firmware are you running?
