Minimserver on Melco
I recently had to reinstall my music on Melco N1Z/2. Upon doing this the graphic interface on my BubbleUPNP controller changed dramatically. I have been trying to figure out if it was Minimserver or BubbleUIPNP responsible for the change. The controller is a Samsung tablet.

RE: Minimserver on Melco
A dramatic change is likely to be caused by BubbleUPnP. Can you say a bit more about the change you are seeing?

RE: Minimserver on Melco
The graphics have disappeared and now Bubble UPNP is only showing my DAC as the renderer. No Minimserver. I looked at the settings on the controller and everything seemed to be the same. I managed to bring up the Melco using file explorer. When I try to open the files that contain the music, they are empty, even though the Melco says the hard drives are 28% full. This is really messed up and I am not a computer guru, so struggling to figure it out. Is there some sort of tutorial on setting up Minimserver?

RE: Minimserver on Melco
Are you sure MinimServer is actually running, it could be using Twonky instead

Select 4>Settings from the Melco OLED
Select 2>Music Database from Settings menu
Select 1>Mediaserver App menu

Does MinimServer have a tick beside it?

RE: Minimserver on Melco
I suggest you try doing a MinimServer rescan.

First, make sure MinimServer is running as described in the post by @paultaylor. From the Melco front panel, select Settings > Music Database > Rescan Songs and Playlists. You will see a message saying Rescan Started (on some older versions of the Melco firmware, this incorrectly says Finished). Now go back to the front panel main menu and select Status. When the status for Music Database shows Running, the rescan is complete and you should be able to see your music files in BubbleUPnP.

RE: Minimserver on Melco
I tried rescan several times and there is a tick beside Minimserver on the Melco front panel. I formatted the hard drives and I am in the process of reloading another copy of the same files from another portable hard drive. I will wait for that to finish and see how it turns out.

RE: Minimserver on Melco
When you do a rescan after copying the files, make sure you wait for it to finish (by checking the Status menu) and don't start another rescan before this has happened. The first rescan after copying new files might take a long time.

RE: Minimserver on Melco
The rescan just completed and I deleted and reinstalled Bubble. I have all of my music files, but seem to have a bit of missing album art. I will continue reading and get better acquainted with Minimserver. I purchased a liscense a couple years ago and really didn't have a clue as to how to use it. Thanks for all your help.
