Double Albums with MinimServer & Lightning DS
When using MininServer with Lightning DS (I use an Auralic Aires G2 as my player), I have an issue with double albums where the tracks are listed as 1, 1, 2, 2, and so on, meaning that track 1 from either the first or second CD is followed by track 1 from the other CD.
I have tried using SongKong to insert the number of discs but this has not worked. Twonkey works fine for multidisc albums but has other issues and my preference is for MinimServer as I think it has a slightly organic sonic quality. I only have the version of MinimServer that was preinstalled on my Melco but did try the 30 day full version. However, I was still not able to resolve this issue. |

RE: Double Albums with MinimServer & Lightning DS
… maybe a silly question … did you remember to rescan minimserver after the changes?

RE: Double Albums with MinimServer & Lightning DS
i have Lightning DS installed on my iPad and I confirm that I am seeing the same as you. Other control points such as BubbleUPnP and Linn Kazoo show the discs separately and the tracks in the correct order. It appears that Lightning DS is ignoring DiscNumber tags.

RE: Double Albums with MinimServer & Lightning DS
I might be barking up the wrong tree, but do you have the following configuration option set?
Code: serverOptions: showAllDiscs=true When it's set to true the xml tag originalTrackNumber has the value of the TrackNumber tag in the underlying files (in most scenarios), so multiple tracks will have the same value (on a multi-disc release), but when set to false originalTrackNumber is unique (1-total tracks). My guess is that the control point is using this to sort the tracks. When I first started using the WiiM app it had similar problems, until they fixed it by displaying the tracks in the order they appeared in the xml. EDIT: Just looked on the Lightning DS home page (I don't have an ios to test with) and it appears it indexes the files itself, so it's just using MinimServer as a glorified fileshare. This explains how it's incorrectly ordering the tracks (it's a bug in Lightning DS) but doesn't explain how it works with Twonkey...unless of course you just need to re-index Lightning DS after you'd added the DiscNumber tags. |

RE: Double Albums with MinimServer & Lightning DS
You should be able to tag these album discs in a way that makes MinimServer combine them into a single album with no duplicate track numbers. For example, if disc 1 has tracks 1 to 10 and disc 2 has tracks 1 to 4, you would see a single album with tracks 1 to 14. Would this be an acceptable solution?

I did find a way around this by using SongKong to list the tracks as the total number for the 2 discs so for example 1-23 for an album that has 12 tracks on disc 1 and 11 tracks n disc 2. Under the album artwork Lightning DS shows an incorrect number of tracks, adding 4 to the total, and an incorrect total time. However, this is the best I can do for now. |
