MinimServer crashing
I am having an issue with MinimServer crashing but I cannot post details because I am getting a 403 Forbidden message. Please advise.

RE: MinimServer crashing
The 403 problem is caused by some text in your attempted post which my hosting provider's security filter interprets as an attempt to run PHP code. I have sent you more details offline.

Thanks for sending me two files that caused this problem. Both these files have corrupt ID3v2.4 tagging. MinimServer cannot read these files because of the corrupt tagging and it produces an error message and stack trace in the log for each file that it cannot read. All other files are read correctly and MinimServer continues to run normally.

What tagging program have you used to write or edit tags in these files?

RE: MinimServer crashing
Thanks. I am using Subsonic browser version to edit tags. I am doing this already for many years.

RE: MinimServer crashing
Is it possible to "correct" these corrupted tags? For example by removing all the tags?

RE: MinimServer crashing
I just checked these files in my Subsonic browser where they also turned out to be corrupted. I removed them and will scan again the Minim Server. Thanks a lot Simon!

RE: MinimServer crashing
When posting to the forum, it makes the thread easier to read if posts don't contain quoted text from earlier posts unless this is necessary to provide context for comments made in the new post.

If you reply using the small Reply button in the previous post, the forum automatically includes quoted text and you would need to edit your reply to remove it. It is easier to use the large New Reply button below the last forum post which creates a new post with no quoting of previous posts.

I have edited some of the previous posts on this thread to remove redundant quoted text.

RE: MinimServer crashing
The handling of files like this with a corrupt tag format has been improved in MinimServer update 241. A warning message is written to the log and the file is added to the MinimServer library but with no tags.
