RE: MinimStreamer not working
Yes, I am suggesting that you select the "Manually configure" box and type the address 192.168.4.1 into the Preferred DNS Server field. If this doesn't fix the problem, it is easy to go back to what you have at present.

Hi Simon.

I've manually configured as you've suggested, but still no luck (assuming I've done it correctly of course!!).

After making and saving the changes I re-booted the nas drive (not sure if you need to do that but thought no harm done).

The settings are now as follows:

RE: MinimStreamer not working
You have set the DNS server to 192.168.4.54. It should be 192.168.4.1.

Hi Simon.

Made the change but still no luck with getting the streams to play!

Screen shots of settings after the change and rebooting the nas drive

Thanks, Steve

RE: MinimStreamer not working
Thanks for trying this and letting me know.

Do you have another device such as a Windows PC or Mac on your home network? If so, I can post details of how to use this device to get the correct setting for the DNS server. Please post details of what device(s) you have.

RE: MinimStreamer not working
Hi Simon.

This morning I tried a little experiment. I'm not sure what this shows or if it proves anything, but I thought, with everything set up as it is now, I would try doing a recording of one of the radio streams, just to see what would happen. So I did, and mininserver/streamer made the recording perfectly. I found the recording on the NAS drive and once I tagged it with some info (name, artist, album) and rescanned it was showing in the Yamaha Musiccast app for selection under the artist and album and played OK.

My uneducated guess is this shows that everything from Minimserver/streamer is working fine, but that for some reason my Yamaha player might now be the problem.

Does this help or confuse things further?

THanks, Steve

RE: MinimStreamer not working
This information is very helpful. It shows that the DNS server setting is now correct.

Please post the contents of the .m3u file or files that you are using for your radio streams. Some changes might be needed to make the streams compatible with your Yamaha player.

Also, what setting (if any) do you have for the stream.transcode property?

RE: MinimStreamer not working
Thanks for this. The streams you are trying to play are being sent to your Yamaha player as aac (ADTS) streams.

It is possible that your Yamaha player has a problem with playing a radio stream with this stream type. You could try sending these streams as WAV streams instead. To do this, change your stream.transcode setting to this:

flac:wav, aac:wav, *:wav
