I am still using Wayland. I know there were some updates, but I dont know what they were.

This is what java --version shows

Code:
jason@fedora:~$ java --version
openjdk 22.0.2 2024-07-16
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (Red_Hat-22.0.2.0.9-2) (build 22.0.2+9)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (Red_Hat-22.0.2.0.9-2) (build 22.0.2+9, mixed mode, sharing)

It looks like there was a java update based on my previous post.

RE: minimwatch issue on fedora 38 (gnome 44)
I figured out how to make the icon appear.

In Gnome Extensions Manager there is a disabled Extension called "AppIndicator and KStatusNotification Support". Enabling that will put the missing icon in the menu bar, along with any others that are missing.

Thanks for this. I will install Fedora 40 and try it. Does GNOME Shell on Fedora 40 use Wayland by default or does a configuration setting need to be changed?

I changed nothing and am on Wayland. It must be by default.

edit: However, another restart and now it does not want to show up. This is frustrating. I will see what I can figure out and report back.
