Playlist Hell
My CP (Mosaic) shows over 2k playlists in the Minimserver library yet I have never created a playlist in my life. These seem to be totally random selections of tracks or albums. Where do they come from and how do I get rid of them? BTW in case relevant I tag my files in Jriver MC.

RE: Playlist Hell
Where in Mosaic do you see these playlists? Are they under the xxxx playlists menu selection on the MinimServer top-level menu or under the PLAYLISTS selection at the bottom of the Mosaic screen?

They are shown in the top level menu

RE: Playlist Hell
In this case, they are in your music library as .m3u or .m3u8 files and MinimServer is scanning them and showing them. It is possible that they have been created by JRiver. Do the playlist names (shown under xxxx playlists) provide any clues?

It would be a good idea to remove these files or exclude them from scanning as they are making MinimServer rescanning take significantly longer.

Indeed there are numerous m3u files in my library and these show up in Mosaic and Jriver. Deleting them in Jriver simply removes them from its library but does not delete the actual files. Presumably if I do a search in Explorer I can identify all occurrences and bulk delete. You are certainly right that this is slowing down Minimserver rescan. Thanks

RE: Playlist Hell
Yes, searching in Explorer for *.m3u and *.m3u8 will show lists of all these files and enable you to do a bulk deletion.

There is probably some setting in JRiver to prevent this happening again but my (limited) experience with JRiver is that finding the right place to set this might not be easy.
