Minimserver and KEF LSX II

I have just set up Minimserver / Minimstreamer on Synology D220+ to listen to BBC Radio from KEF LSX II. The set up works find using mconnect app (once I had set "stream.options" to “streamSize=2GB”). However when using the KEF Connect app I get the following error "Failed to retrieve content". The Minimwatch log has the following error "Browse request from 192.168.n.n: 0$folders$f777$*p0$*c3 isn't a valid container".

Any advice?

This is very lkely to be caused by a bug in the KEF Connect app.

Please try the following:

1) Stop MinimServer
2) Stop the KEF Connect app
3) Restart MinimServer
4) Restart the KEF Connect app
5) Browse your library, noting every selection you make, until you get to a selection that produces this error
6) Post the error message and the exact sequence of selection steps that led to the error

This will provide useful information for me to try to narrow down the cause of the problem.

I did as suggested. Played some FLAC albums without problem. Then tried playing BBC Radio3 and Radio1 and got the following from the log:

Please provide the information that I requested in my previous post (the complete list of selection steps that leads to the error). For example, on my setup this would be:

Thanks for this. This information is very helpful. Please now do the following, exactly as described:

1) Browse down to your BBC Radio folder by making the first BBC Radio selection
2) In the MinimServer log window, change the logging level to Trace
3) In the MinimServer log window, click Clear
4) Make the second BBC Radio selection
5) Try to play [R3] BBC Radio 3. You should see a stack trace in the log as well as the error message. Don't do this more than once.
6) In the MinimServer log window, change the logging level back to Info
7) Copy and paste the full contents of the log window to a post here

The object 0$folders$f777$*p0$*c3 is the BBC Radio 3 stream. In UPnP terms, it is an item of class object.item.audioItem.musicTrack. KEF Connect thinks it is a container for some reason and sends a BrowseDirectChildren request for it. Because the item is not a container, MinimServer rejects this request as erroneous.

Can you report this bug to KEF?

I will indeed take this to KEF... but they don't appear to have a great support reputation

I hope they can fix it as the reason I came across your product was to find a way of listening to BBC when they end support for Shoutcast sometime next year.
