RE: Library contains 0 audio files in 0 folders
I have MinimServer 2 succesfully loaded and running on the pi, clear instructions. I've enabled desktop icon, and autorestart, restart works, server comes staright back up, and it see's my radio folder. I've activated the trial. But I can't access the pakages to install MinimStreamer which is slightly annoying. i have no coloured icon in taskbar, although when I click "rescan" I see a momemtary drop down icon as in screenshot, but it's not right clickable to access Configure, to add streamer package. please see screenshot. I can acces the MinimServer Pi license aggreement page on both the PC and the Pi, just cant install the streamer. Ive also installed Miniwatch on the PC but it's greyed out so no help, and from the logs it says..
Platform default charset is windows-1252 System platform is windows-x64 UPnP port 9791 has been selected Active subnet is 192.168.12.0 Startup complete Not sure where this address comes from 192.168.12.0 ? it's not on my network. and I'm using VNC and raspberry version is Stretch. Edit- Oh and your Minimwatch setup guide page has a 404 Not Found page. https://minimserver.com/downloads/minimwatch.html |

Rescan is a menu option shown by right-clicking this icon. Quote:Ive also installed Miniwatch on the PC but it's greyed out so no help Are you loooking in the right place for the MnimWatch icon? It's in the taskbar (or the taskbar overflow area), not the grey launch icon on the desktop. If MinimServer is not running, the MinimWatch taskbar icon will be grey. Quote:Active subnet is 192.168.12.0 This is a subnet address, not a device address. If this subnet is correct, device addresses should look like 192.168.12.x where x is a number between 1 and 255. Quote:and I'm using VNC and raspberry version is Stretch. I haven't tested with VNC. This might be why the taskbar icon isn't working. Also, stretch is quite old now and MinimWatch 2.1.2 might not have been tested with this. Quote:Edit- Oh and your Minimwatch setup guide page has a 404 Not Found page. Where did you find this URL? The correct URL is https://minimserver.com/minimwatch.html. |

It sounds like you ran it from Windows Explorer instead of from a command prompt. If you install it in the location described in the MinimStreamer user guide, it should work correctly for MinimStreamer transcoding. |

If you have any suggestions, i may have another crack tomorrow, i've been adjusting toolbar settings, changing desktop ratio, to get this icon to appear. |

Thanks, I understand now. Quote:Yes, but my network doesn;t operate on 192.168.12.XXX, i don;t recognise that address, and not sure why it's been picked up? This is probably a virtual network adapter created by another application that is being picked up by MinimWatch. To make MinimWatch select the correct subnet, you need to set the ohnet.subnet property for MinimWatch by selecting Options > Properties (watch). For more information about this, see this section. The subnet mismatch explains why MinimWatch is not seeing MinimServer. When you have this working, you should be able to use MinimWatch to install and configure MinimStreamer. Quote:My apologies, I'm using Buster not Stretch, from last year, so quite new. I have tested with Buster, so the problem is likely to be with VNC. Quote:if you click downloads page on the left. then click MinimWatch, it goes to 404 Thanks for this, now fixed. Quote:i've spent all day trying to get this going, but without an icon i cant get streamer loaded. If you have any suggestions, i may have another crack tomorrow, The best solution will be either to fix the subnet issue and get MinimWatch working or to install your ffmpeg.exe file in the correct location on Windows (see post #13). |

RE: Library contains 0 audio files in 0 folders
Thanks for persevering with me and for the pointer regarding ohnet.subnet.
I started the setup process from scratch, both MinimWatch on the PC and MinimServer on the Pi, and indeed correcting the ohnet.subnet entry to my Pi's subnet got me off and running, was able to install MinimStreamer on the Pi and so far it's performing just as solidly as the PC version, fast to start and no drop outs. The Pi server Icon is still not appearing, not for love nor money, so I've disabled that, and kept auto restart active. As the Pi has ffmpeg already installed, would you be so kind as to pin point the exact setting I would need to change to try a higher bitrate to stream please? I'm curious about this capability. Edit- I saw you've already specified this, "Add aac:wav24 to the stream.transcode property". After I finish cloning the Pi image to the PC I'll search that setting... |

Hi Simoncn, I have a very interesting question for you actually, can/could I stream the audio from my android phone in the same way? It would be totally awesome if so.

RE: Library contains 0 audio files in 0 folders
Are you asking about playing the BBC streams on your Android phone or are you asking about playing music files from your Android phone to your Samsung speakers?

The second, playing audio from Android to the speakers, broadcasting like the streamer does, that way i could achieve multi room audio. Audio files, podcasts, anything. |

You can use the BubbleUPnP Android app to do this.
