I have another question. I am using MinimServer with my Lumin and my amp is a Gato Dia. For better sound quality do i need an EQ ! |

RE: White Minimserver icon
I haven't tried macOS Ventura yet. I will install it and try it with MinimServer and post back here.
Which version of Java are you running? This could make a difference to how the icon is displayed. For your other question about EQ, I suggest you post it as a new thread in the Digital Audio section of this forum with an appropriate thread title. This will make it more likely that someone with experience of something similar to your setup will read your post and reply. |

RE: White Minimserver icon
I use Ventura on a MacBook Pro, Java 8.333 installed. The Minimwatch icon is white (as it has always been) and functioning normal. When starting Minimwatch the icon is just less than a second transparent and then becomes white.

RE: White Minimserver icon
I now have Ventura running. To get a transparent MinimServer icon on Ventura, you need Java 17 or later. This is similar to other versions of macOS from Big Sur onwards. With older versions of Java, you will get a white icon.

RE: White Minimserver icon
Hi simon - I have a similar glitch with Watch - running Java 17 on Ventura 13.1. Loads fine with grey icon - is actually working but will only show full menu once the screen/Mac has gone or been put into Sleep mode. White icon and menu then appears. David

RE: White Minimserver icon
The grey icon is a different issue. A grey icon means MinimWatch has not been able to find MinimServer on the network. This is likely to be caused by a UPnP discovery issue with your network (see this page for some suggestions). I have tried MinimWatch on my Ventura installation and it shows a grey icon briefly before changing to a transparent icon for each MinimServer instance on my network.

RE: White Minimserver icon
Simon - this is a repeatable bug/feature. MinimServer is running on a Melco - established with Safari. On first launch Minim Watch is greyed out - no menu items for Server only Watch. Put the Mac to sleep - on waking Minim Watch presents as normal with full menu and white icon.

RE: White Minimserver icon
I understand and the likely cause is a network discovery issue (see the page I linked in my previous post). Does your router have IGMP snooping enabled? If it is enabled, is there a setting to disable it?
It is also worth trying powering all your network equipment off and on using the sequence described on the linked page. This often resolves problems like this. |
