MinimServer 2.1 on QNAP TS-228A available or not?

I am running MinimServer 2 on my QNAP TS-228A.
The configuration page shows:

MinimServer 2.1 is now available
For continued support and updates, please install this version
For more information, see this section

MinimServer 2.0.19, Copyright © 2012-2021 Simon Nash. All rights reserved.

Your license type is Full. For more information, select the License tab.

But when I go to the App Center as instructed on https://minimserver.com/install-qnap.html I see MinimServer with an Open button and no Update option.

So according to the App Center I have the latest available version, but according to the configuration page there is a newer version available and I will lose support if I don't update.

What should I do?

According to the QNAP App Center web page, the MinimServer 2.1.2 package is available for a TS-228A running QTS 5.0.1.

I don't know why you are not seeing this version as available when you open App Center on the NAS. Are you running QTS 5.0.1 or an older version?

Can you download MinimServer 2.1.2 from the QNAP web page and do a manual install? It seems very strange that QNAP would require you to do this.

Thanks. I am still on QTS 4.5.4. I tried to avoid the upgrade to QTS 5, but if it hinges on that I guess I'll have to bite the bullet now.

I checked this on the QNAP App Center web page. For QTS 4.5.4, it shows MinimServer 2.0.19 even though MinimServer 2.1.2 fully supports QTS 4.5.4 and all older versions of QTS.

There seems be a QNAP policy of only making current versions of MinimServer available for recent models of NAS and/or recent versions of QTS. The criteria for "recent" are not completely clear. I will contact QNAP to try to get more clarification about how this works.

You can stay on QTS 4.5.4 and do a manual download and installation of MinimServer 2.1.2 as described in this section. For the TS-228A, you need to download the ARMv8 version of MinimServer.

Thanks again. I didn't like the idea of a manual install so I decided to upgrade to QTS 5.0.1 after verifying in the QNAP forum that the worst kinks are ironed out. Sure enough, MinimServer 2.1.2 showed up in the App Center immediately after the upgrade, and installed without a hitch.
