Why Qobuz browsing resets every time the Lumin app is set in the foreground ?

Hello,
I use Lumin app with two sources, Minim server (0.8.5.3 on a Synology NAS) and Qobuz, and one player (Lumin U1 mini).

Each time I open the Lumin app, or just unlock my iPhone to get access to the app, it updates the Minim library, which causes the Qobuz browsing to reset to the root.
It is annoying because I don't need the Minim library to be updated so often, and loosing the position in the Qobuz library is not nice.
I insist that I don't entirely quit the Lumin app, it is just set in background for a while.

I wonder if there is something that can be done to avoid so frequent updates of the Minim library.
Eventually, should I upgrade to V2, would it improve on this behavior ?

This sounds like an issue with the LUMIN app. I don't think updating to MinimServer 2 would make any difference.

Is it expected that the LUMIN app updates the Minim library so often ?
Or is it triggered in case a modification to the library has occurred ?

Firstly, I assume you're talking about the app updating its cache of the MinimServer library rather than causing MinimServer to perform a rescan itself.

I've only used it very occasionaly, but on Android a rebuild/update needs to be specifically requested, so I'm surprised that it's happening automatically at all.
Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling and just setting up MinimServer to see if the problem persists? Likewise, just installing Qobuz to see if browsing is reset every time?

On iOS/iPadOS the app detect changes in Minimserver library and start automatically a re-sync (if a rescan was issued)
When the re-sync starts it should be better to let it finish (non more spinning dented wheel on the right of the selected mediaserver) as if it doesn’t end before you put it in background (or swipe off) it will restart again the next time you’ll start the app.

I do apologise, I've just installed the Android app and every time it's opened it rebuilds the cache without any changes to the MinimServer library at all, you can see it through the MinimServer 'Show Log' window. Even if I let it complete, the next time its opened the refresh/rebuild is performed again.

Pointing it to a subset of my music served by AssetUPnP and I see the same behaviour, so it's not directly related to MinimSever. Definitely one for the Lumin devs to look at.

I am using the lumin app on an iPad (2018) with a lumin U1 mini. Here the cache reload indicator icon does spin very often but not always. Jumping back to the start of navigation in qobuz does happen here, too, from time to time. Not on every start/opening of the app, but often enough to be annoying.

The linn app behaves much better IMHO. After the last qobuz navigation restructuring the app looks even better then the lumin app. The only drawback is the missing option to only enqueue a track to the playlist by a simple one touch, instead of interrupting the currently playing track.

Therefor the lumin app has another annoying behaviour: I have it set up to add a track to the playlist by a simple touch of the track. If I try to add e.g. 4 tracks very quickly by touching them all in maybe 2 seconds, they are added in reverse order to the playlist. Does anybody see this behaviour, too? (both with qobuz and minimserver tracks. It seems not to happen when the playlist is completely empty.)

You can tap on the three dots icon on the right of the track, more choices for adding the track to the now playing playlist will show up

Yes, thank you. But this is not a one touch action anymore. Adding a track with a simple tap would be much simpler.

I already asked Peter about it. The answer was that I should try to tap the tracks slower.

Hi all,
I confirm at this stage, the Lumin app updates every time it is brought forward, which is far too much.
I remember it has not always been that way. Few years (?) ago, I would have to manually update the library, and that was much better IMHO.

I noticed Lumin and they said they would look into.
Loosing the position in the library (either Minim or Qobuz) is painful and I hope they can do something (they should come back to previous behavior).
By the way, I also ask if they can show the sum up (text) related to each album and written by the Qobuz team. It could appear at the bottom of the pop up menu.
