Content Directory Query

Hi Simon,

a long time away from tweaking my system and now I can't remember anything! Sorry... So, my first problem is trying to connect to the content on my Melco. I'm confused for a number of reasons:

1) when I access MS2 from the iPad which has the Melco HD App, using IP address nnn.nnn.n.nnn:9790 in Safari, I see the following status and profile setup (see screenshots 1 and 2).
2) when I fire up MS2 on my Mac and look at status and profiles, they are different (screenshots 3 and 4).
3) up to yesterday the content directory had been /volumes/internal and I was able to use MS2 on the Mac to rescan etc. but today I get an error (screenshot 5).
4) I have a vague memory of changing the content directory - I think it used to be /mnt/disk1/share, but this doesn't work either.
5) Have I got out of synch somehow between what my Mac thinks the MS2 settings are and what is actually on the Melco version of MS2? The "Last rescan" dates from the iPad status and that on the Mac are completely different, as are the profiles listed ...?

Any advice to get me going again would be much appreciated.

Hi Karen,

You seem to have MinimServer installed on both your Melco (N-2D7D) and on your mac (MacBook-Pro.lan).
A typical setup is to have MinimServer running on the Melco and MinimWatch running on the mac.

Are you intentionally running MinimServer on both devices and if so are you trying to point MinimServer on the mac to the music that's on the Melco, or somewhere else?

ahhh - I wondered if I might have done that... unintentional... I thought that the MS2 on the Mac gave me the ability to change the parameters/properties and that's why I needed to install it there. Looks like that's a "no".

I'll uninstall and switch to MW and see if things improve. But, what do I use to change the properties - Item/Alias/Index tags etc? I think I remember now... that's MinimWatch... doh - sorry, it's been a while since I looked at this...
