A question about rescan (out of curiosity)
Hi Simon,
I am "cleaning" my library, meaning that I delete all covers which are inside the music files, letting only the Cover.jpg in the folder. Should I make a rescan after this ? filenames are the same, just that there is no more internal image. Thx ! |

RE: A question about rescan (out of curiosity)
A UPnP server sends an artwork image to the control point by providing a URL to download the image. When you change from embedded images to Cover.jpg files, the image URL provided by MinimServer is no longer valid and needs to be refreshed by a rescan.
Also, MinimServer checks audio files while browsing to make sure they have not been modified or deleted since the last rescan. Removing a file's embedded image will cause the file to be detected as having been modified and you will receive a "modified or deleted" error when browsing to the file. For both these reasons, you need to do a rescan after the changes you are making. |
