RE: MinimServer rescan?
Linn DS is a streamer, isn’t it?
I don’t have any Linn and using Linn app the previous attached screenshot shows that Pin feature is not available

The Linn Klimax Renew DS that I am using for testing is running Davaar 75.

I've updated a post above showing the steps to add pins via the Linn (iOS) control app. There is some outdated regarding support for pins on non-Linn media servers. Initially it was only supported on Linn media server, but that changed. As well as needing Davaar released within the last 18 months (or so) – sorry I can't be more specific about which release added support – you'll may also need a recent version of the control app. I use Linn app v4.5.2.1.

I followed all your instructions exactly. When I touch the "3 dots" icon, I see only the following selections in the overlay: Play now, Play next, Play later, Add to playlist, Playlist information.

Simon, I think the firmware on your Linn needs to be updated. I've just checked the Linn release notes for Davaar.
I gather that Davaar 80 Build 391 (4.80.391) Released on 10 Dec 2020
Added support for UPnP server pins

I'm using Davaar 87 (4.86.421) with MinimServer 2.1 (213) and Linn (iOS) control app 4.5.2.1.

I've updated a post above showing the steps to add pins via the Linn (iOS) control app.

RE: MinimServer rescan?
I updated to Davaar 87 and I can set pins now. You can work around this problem by making two changes.

1) Instead of browsing via folder view to set these pins, browse via "n playlists"

2) Change the filenames of the pinned playlists so that they sort before all other playlist filenames. For example, instead of naming the playlist file BBC Radio 3.m3u, use one of these names:

.BBC Radio 3.m3u
+BBC Radio 3.m3u
-BBC Radio 3.m3u

This ensures that adding or removing other playlists doesn't change the lexicographic sort position of your pinned playlists because the other playlists being added or removed will be sorted after your pinned playlists.

This is important because the Linn app stores pins using UPnP object IDs. The MinimServer object ID for a playlist includes the lexicographic sort index of its filename relative to other playlist filenames. The workaround ensures that adding or removing other playlists doesn't change the sort index positions of your pinned playlists.

Thank you, Simon. I implemented the name changes suggested above and rescanned and they seem to have held, so bravo. I also feel glad that this exchange overall hasn't only been to my benefit. We've demonstrated that pins are supported outside of Kazoo Server. And now that you've updated to Davaar 87, they might offer you some slight convenience, too. (Win-win-win.)
