Not importing Album titles etc.
I have been downloading music files from Qobuz onto my PC. If I then transfer these onto my portable (i.e. MP3) player it identifies the artist/ album/ song etc. perfectly well, so presumably all the meta data tagging is correct. However, over quite a number of files now, when I transfer these via memory stick onto the Melco n100 it does not identify the artist, song etc. As per a previous query on this forum, I have learnt that by instructing the Melco to Rescan Songs and Playlists the imported track 1, 2 etc. become correctly identified. However, this has caused me a massive problem: it has wiped out all of my playlists. My whole reason for buying the Melco is that I listen to music via playlists. I reckon I invested over 20 hours creating numerous of these and they have now all been lost. When I originally imported all of my CD's + other digital music files onto the Melco everything was correctly identified without having to do a rescan. It has only been the Qobuz files that have necessitated this but my MP3 player seems perfectly capable of reading the data. I want to continue downloading new music but it is simply not an option to run the rescan if it will wipe out all of my playlists, which will now utilise most of my Christmas holiday re-establishing. Please help.

RE: Not importing Album titles etc.
How do you access your playlists? Are they held in a control point app? If so, which control point app is this?

RE: Not importing Album titles etc.
This is a known issue with the Naim app and MinimServer. It dates back to 2015 when I had a discussion with Naim about this problem and we agreed a technical solution that required changes to MinimServer and changes to the Naim app. I implemented the changes to MinimServer but Naim did not implement the changes they said they would make to the Naim app.

I am looking into whether I can find a workaround for this issue. Until I have some news on this, don't spend time on creating new playlists as these will also become unusable after your next rescan.

RE: Not importing Album titles etc.
My investigations so far have not produced any positive results. You have three options:

1) Create server-side playlists (.m3u files) instead of keeping your playists in the Naim app. MinimServer has full support for server side-playlists and you can use these with all apps and all renderers (players).

2) Use a different control-point app instead of the Naim app

3) Use a different UPnP server. On the Melco, your other option is Twonky.

The simplest solution is 3). If you do this, your playlists will be tied to Twonky (because of how the Naim app support for playlists works) and you won't be able to use them with MinimServer or any other media server in the future.

The best solution is 1). This is more cumbersome to set up but the resulting playlists are completely future-proofed and can be used with any media server and any media player.
