Tagview playlist all directories

RE: Tagview playlist all directories
If "change to another music folder" means you are changing your contentDir setting, a rescan and reload will be needed. If you navigate to the other folder using MinimServer's [folder view] (not the same as the LUMIN app's folder view), no rescan or reload should be needed.

On DSM 7, MinimServer is not able to run with root privilege. This is a limitation of DSM 7. You might need to change the permissions of your music folders to give read permission to the "administrators" group to make things work correctly. I suspect this is the reason why you are seeing some folders as empty. You can also check the MinimServer log for warning messages about incorrect folder permissions.

With changing the music folder I mean I navigate to an other folder using MinimServer's [folder view], That's within the contentDir context. So, I don't expect to neede to rescan and reload.

I think the Permission to read the folder is not the issue, after a rescan the contents wil show. They just don't show immidedeately.

I've run through the log, but no clue why I have to rescan each time. And why does it work fine on the old DSM version?

RE: Tagview playlist all directories
I tried this on DSM 6 and DSM 7. In both cases, selecting a folder using MinimServer [folder view] in LUMIN folder view causes the LUMIN app to show the contents of the selected folder in LUMIN folder view with no rescan needed. To update the other LUMIN views, the MinimServer content directory needs to be changed.

Is it possible to share the profile you used? Maybe it's a specific setting that is the cause of my problem.

I was using the default profile with no customisation.

Where can I find that?

RE: Tagview playlist all directories
You can create a new test profile with default settings by doing the following:

1) From the Profiles tab, select Create
2) In the New profile field, enter: test
3) Click the Create Profile button
4) From the Profiles tab, select Reset
5) Click the Reset Profile button

After this, the test profile will be selected as your active profile and it will have default settings. To restore the settings from your usual profile, click Select from the Profiles tab and select the name of your usual profile.

You can do this to change between any number of profiles with different settings. This makes it easy to experiment with different settings without losing the settings you have currently.

Thanks, that helps. The sad news is that the default profile has the same problem for me, in my environment. Using <<Tag View>> the folder listing won't show.....

I tried it for my Synology NAS, but also on a Windows 10 Home edition laptop. Both the same negative result.

Is it maybe an issue in combination with the Lumin software?

RE: Tagview playlist all directories
You could try contacting the LUMIN developers to see if they have any suggestions.

RE: Tagview playlist all directories
Sorry for jumping in ….
I’m using Lumïn app on iPad/iPhone with a quite complex Minimserver configuration without any issue.
In you first post you attached your configuration where
alphagroup
listviewalbums
are used.
Could you try to remove them just to verify if something changes without them?
