RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
Hi There,
Yesterday I tryed to remove Java after I stopped Minimserver2. Still not able to remove Java because it was used by Minim. Exported my profile of Minimserver2, deactivated my license, removed the Minim install (did not selected the option to remove Minim completely but the other one). Now I could remove Java, run update to DSM 7.0. Installed Minimserver2 again from third party of Synology. Minim found all the settings itself because I didn't removed my install completly. Only change is language; "All artists" is called now "Alle Artiesten" and "Instrument" are called "Muziekinstrument" So some options are changed to Dutch while others stayed Englisch. Grtz mdp |

Do you want these names to be in Dutch or in English?

I am setting up a Synology DSM 416 Slim that was updated to DSM 7
I have uninstalled and re-installed Minimserver on the device and set the content directory. I am getting the following permissions errors in the log file: ----------- MinimServer 2.0.18 update 201, Copyright © 2012-2021 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. Please post any questions about this here. The instructions for the upgrade asks for update 197 to be installed. My current version of MininmServer has update 201 installed. May I still follow the instructions provided for the upgrade? Thank you. |

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
Thanks for letting me know about this. I have updated the web page to clarify that you need to have update 197 (or later) installed. As you have update 201 installed, this is fine.

I simply downloaded the 2.0.18-2004 from the Minimserver site and was then able to install it through the package center by browsing the file on my hard drive. The Package Center lists the 2003 as the latest version and 2004 as the installed version. All good in the end. Cheers! |

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
The only difference between 2.0.18-2004 and 2.0.18-2003 is a fix for the mscript command (see the release notes). Unless you are using mscript (unlikely), it doesn't matter which of these versions you have installed. The important thing is to be on the latest update, currently 201.

RE: Updating Synology DSM 6 to DSM 7
I have a Synology 220+ (Intel processor). I am instructed to update to DSM 7. the Minimserver instructions for doing so state to uninstall Java and Minimserver 2 first. However, I see no button for uninstalling Minimserver, and browsing around revealed none. Help, please (I'm sure the solution is obvious...) Thx.
