Minimwatch on Mac OS Catalina can't see Minimserver on Win 8.1
Mac Minimwatch icon is grey, can't see Minimserver, see log below. UPnP control point app on same Mac can see Minimserver instance just fine.

Same subnet, no internal firewalls anywhere, anti-virus disabled on both hosts, no network blocking/filtering on LAN router.

What up?

Minimwatch 2.0.18 on Mac OS Catalina
IP address = 192.168.254.35
MinimWatch 2.0.18
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 12.0.2+10)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 12.0.2+10, mixed mode, sharing)
Java runtime options: -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
Platform default charset is UTF-8
System platform is macos
Active subnet is 192.168.254.0

Minimserver 2.0.12 update 182 on Win 8.1 - 64 Pro
IP address = 192.168.254.18
Win firewall: off
Network connection: Home

Thanks,
PS

RE: Minimwatch on Mac OS Catalina can't see Minimserver on Win 8.1
Please try the following:

1) Stop and restart MinimWatch
2) If this didn't fix it, stop and restart MinimServer

Did either of these help?

Edit: Have you checked the firewall settings on the Mac?

Thanks for the reply. I tried 1 and 2 ^ before posting - neither helped.

There is no firewall on the Mac, or on the Minimserver host, or on the LAN.

RE: Minimwatch on Mac OS Catalina can't see Minimserver on Win 8.1
Please create debug logs for both MinimWatch and MinimServer by doing the following exactly as stated.

1) On the Mac, select Options > Show log (watch)
2) In the log window, change the logging level to Debug
3) Close the log window
4) On the Mac, select Options > Properties (watch)
5) Set ohnet.debug to All
6) Exit MinimWatch

7) On the PC, select Options > Show log
8) In the log window, change the logging level to Debug
9) Close the log window
10) On the PC, select Options > Properties
11) On the System tab, set ohnet.debug to All
12) Exit MinimServer

13) Launch MinimServer
14) When MinimServer is running (green icon in system tray), launch MinimWatch
15) Wait 30 seconds
16) On the PC, copy the minimserver.log file from the C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\MinimServer\data folder to another location. The AppData folder isn't visible in Windows Explorer by default but you can enter the full folder path in the Explorer address bar.
17) On the Mac, copy the minimwatch.log file from the ~/Library/MinimWatch folder to another location. The ~/Library folder isn't visible in Mac Finder by default but you can enter this path in Go > Go to folder.

When you have copied both these log files, please send a PM to forum user simoncn and I will advise on how to get these logs to me. Many thanks.

After you have created the logs, you should set ohnet.debug back to Default and the logging level back to Info on both machines.

Thanks, done. ohnet port is 9791 for both minimwatch and minimserver - anything else specific I should look for in the logs?
