Minim Server not found due to firewall on synology

Question Minim Server not found due to firewall on synology
I am using Minim Server 2 (2.0.12) on a Synology DS918+
In the synology firewall I have port 9790 and 9791 on TCP and 1900/UDP open for the MinimServer UPnP media server application.

As a client, I am using the Naim App for a NDX and MusoQb2. MinimWatch is running on an iMac.

When I start the NaimApp it won't find the MinimServer with the firewall ON.
When I switch the firewall OFF, it'll connect and everything is working fine.
When I subsequently switch the firewall ON again, the active connection still works. So I can browse Albums, play music and use the MinimWatch.

So the Synology firewall is blocking the initial connect or search on the LAN.

Any idea which port I am missing.

Any idea on how to debig this?

The support from this forumg is very much appreciated.

RE: Minim Server not found due to firewall on synology
These ports are correct. Please try stopping MinimServer from the Synology Package Center and starting it again. If this doesn't fix the problem, try powering the NAS off and on.

The initial discovery protocol uses a sequence of messages. Some of these are multicast UDP, some are unicast UDP and some are TCP. If it still isn't working after following the above suggestions, I can provide instructions for creating a debug log that should show which discovery messages are being received by MinimServer.

RE: Minim Server not found due to firewall on synology
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Rebooting Minim and the DS918+ did only do half of the trick.
The Naim NDX now finds the Minim Server immediately (with Firewall ON).
However, the Naim MusoQB 2 still cannot see the Minim Server.

Looks like a Naim issue, but I still would appreciate the debugging instructions for the Minim Server.

UPDATE: searching the Minim forum I found the discussion on switching "IPMG snooping off". Changing this on my Unifi controller, this seems to solve the issue.

Both devices (NDX and MusoQB) can now see the Minim Server. Smile
