MinimServer 2 available from QNAP App Center

MinimServer 2.0.12 is now available from the QNAP App Center but only for QTS 4.5.1. I have asked QNAP to make this available for earlier versions of QTS.

Edit: If you already have 2.0.12 on your QNAP NAS, you can ignore this. The App Center download is identical to what you already have.

No need to reinstall - this is the same as the 2.0.12 that you already have.

Some users have been waiting for an official download from QNAP. This would be of interest to them, not to existing users of 2.0.12.

Hi Simon,

I upgraded to version 2.0.12 on my QNAP TS-453be, but when the service started，it gives the following error:

Incorrect language tag 'Simplified Chinese'

I changed NAS language settings into English, and the service started with the following error:

Error writing data to license buffer: java.io.IOException: platform data error 1b

So what sould I do now?

The "error 1b" problem is fixed in the latest MinimServer update (update 175). To install this update, do the following:

1) In the App Center, stop MinimServer
2) Make sure your NAS has an active internet connection
3) In the App Center, start MinimServer

When MinimServer starts, it should automatically download update 175 and install it.

I will investigate the other problem and post back here.

I downloaded and upgraded via the QNAP App Center, now I'm getting this error:

Module 'minimserver-2.0.134.jar' requires module 'minimui-2.0.121'

I also paid for a full licence, went in to activate it and got what I think was a java error. Now seeing this in the log:

Substitution key ##updates_expiry## has no value

and when I look at the profile my config options have still all got the '+' sign in front of them...

My apologies for this. A bad version of minimserver-2.0.134.jar was accidentally copied to the update server. This might also be the reason for the other problem that you had. The plus signs in your profile will be removed when you have successfully started MinimServer and activated your full license. Don't try to remove the plus signs manually.

The reovery procedure for the minimserver-2.0.134.jar error depends on whether you are running MininWatch. If you are running MinimWatch, you can select Properties and go to the Packages tab to remove minimserver-update-175, then relaunch MinimServer. This should enable MinimServer to start.

If you are not running MinimWatch, please let me know and I will provide an alternative recovery procedure.

I have found the cause of the problem with Simplified Chinese on QNAP. This will be fixed in the next MinimServer update. Thanks for letting me know about this.
