RE: $!transcode-16,96.wav
What you are doing is supported by MinimStreamer but quite unusual. You are downsampling all 24/192 FLAC files to 16-bit 96kHz WAV streams. Is this intentional?

RE: $!transcode-16,96.wav
From a quick web search, I see that this DAC is limited to 16 bits but I don't see anything that says it is limited to 96 kHz.

I have many 24/* recordings and with my Linn DSM no problem is showing the correct title. All my 3200 cd's are in flac on my NAS and I let minimserver translate from any flac */* to appropriate wav */* and you always see the correct musician and number. Now I build a new dac/streamer with the old Philips TDA1541A S2chip ( a classic superb chip) and have to translate the flac to wav but somehow the artist and trackdiscription are lost. I am using also a Raspi with Volumio. So I have to downgrade to always 16 bit but the tda1541A chip can handle 96kHz. But that is not the point even flac (16/44) to wav (16/44) has the same problem. I dont where to do in this as I like Minimserver very much and upgraded to Minimserver 2 plus full license. Ad, |

RE: $!transcode-16,96.wav
The control point should get the artist and title from the server and send these to the renderer. Some renderers try to extract artist and title from tag data in the audio stream. This tag data is not present in a transcoded stream.
What is your complete setup (control point and renderer) for your new DAC/streamer/renderer? Does the DAC/streamer/renderer use the UPnP protocol to get the artist and title from the control point? |

I have to find out. When I leave it flac and let the renderer to convert it to wav, the tag data is still present (artist and number are shown) but I know tag data in combination with wav files is difficult. The image on the raspi is Volumio but I think it's using UPnP protocol as only the translation has lost something when sending wav to the raspi. I will try to get som answers at the Volumio forum as well. Thanks for your responces. |

RE: $!transcode-16,96.wav
Mayby these two picture showing my 'problem' I use Raspi 3B+with Volumio 2 image which is UPNP and a NAS Synology with Minimserver 2. All my 3200 cd's are ripped to the Synilogy 412+ in flac. When I use a profile which leaves the flac file as it is and I let the raspi/Volumio do the translation, I keep the meta data. But when I use the flac:wav conversion done by to minimserver the metadata of the files are lost? Is this a Volumio problem are could I use some setting in Minimsteamer to get the metadata back? Ad. |
