Newbie - Hello and Set-up Question

Hello

I'm having a problem opening MinimWatch on my MBP which runs Catalina. The OS is rejecting the download because it sees it as unsafe. I have followed the suggestions on the downloads page on the main site, and still no go.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

You need to follow the instructions in this section very carefully. Step 5 is very important and you must do exactly what it says there.

Thanks, simoncn. Those are the instructions I have been using, and I have more time on Step 5 than I care to mention. I will try again and report back tomorrow.

Download file to applications folder.
ctrl click open the file and a window opens with license.txt file and MW file.
ctrl click open the MW file.
box appears with MW can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software, the software needs to be updated (show in finder and ok buttons).

another dialogue box appears, same one as before but with different buttons - show in finder/open/cancel.

The missing step was in point 4:

4. Double-click this file. This opens a window containing two files: LICENSE.txt and MinimWatch. Drag the file named MinimWatch from this window into your Applications folder.

I think you have put the .dmg file in your Applications folder instead of dragging the MinimWatch file from the .dmg window into your Applications folder.
