Cannot specify content directory
Hi
I use HBS3 to backup my QNAP ts-253a server to my ts-251b server.

I get error messages on ts-251b that no content directory is specified, so I followed the web page that says how to do this, so I tried both...

/share/Multimedia/Backup1

/share/Multimedia/Backup1/latest

...but I just get an error for both.

The content directory on ts-253a is /share/Multimedia so can you help? Thanks

RE: Cannot specify content directory
This looks like the problem discussed in this thread. The problem is caused by HBS3 leaving the copied folder permissions in a bad state. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the precise cause of the problem because it went away for the other user after he made some changes to file ownership and I wasn't able to reproduce the problem myself.

The other user was able to access the copied files by specifying /share/MD0_DATA/Multimedia in place of /share/Multimedia. Does this work for you?

Thanks. Sadly that link does not help.

I did see that the directory is actually... /share/Multimedia/Backup1/latest/Mutlimedia
...so I tried that too.

Can anybody help?

RE: Cannot specify content directory
What was the exact path that you tried? Did it include MD0_DATA?

No,
I simply used the path that is specified in File Station in my TS-251B backup of my TS-253A which simply has the directory path /share/Multimedia.

Update, sorry I forgot to say I do not understand MD0_DATA

RE: Cannot specify content directory
Try typing this for the path string:

/share/MD0_DATA/Multimedia

If this doesn't work, please post the exact error mesage.

RE: Cannot specify content directory
Sadly that did not work either. The error message is.... Content directory error: /share/MD0_DATA/Multimedia

I also tried the full path that also did not work... Content directory error: /share/MD0_DATA/Multimedia/Backup1/latest/Multimedia

update: music files in this full path are accessible on my Windows network and play perfectly

RE: Cannot specify content directory
This is lkely to be difficult to debug and I will need your help. Are you OK with logging into the NAS using an SSH terminal window (from Windows, you can use PuTTY), running some commands and sending me the results?
