Of most interest to me is the ability to have a couple more "themes" for background colour. There is now hard black and white. I wonder if the white one has been inspired by the Linn beta white app. (When on earth is that going to get on the road? The one feature I do really like is the ability to search one's collection and Qobuz simultaneously.). Actually the white theme on Lumin is quite nice, especially on a mobile phone.

There is also a strange arrow which pulls up Exact2, Roon, and Speaker Test dialogues.
The first two I cannot test. If you press on the Speaker test it produces the dialogue which would enable you to place this in the playlist.
When you try to do this the app completely crashes.

There is no perfect app, and in my experience no faultless network. But Lumin, for me provides the nearest experience of shuffling through a pile of LPs and choosing one to listen to. The ability to look at the collection full screen and adjust the image sizes is great. I have no links with Lumin and use a Linn streamer.

I cannot find any other new new features.

PS I downloaded Mosaic (above) out of curiosity, and had a quick look. I could not get it to find my network or Linn streamer. I presume it only talks to stuff it is designed to talk to. If not tell me where i went wrong.

The little arrow seems to have the function selecting inputs.
It does see some of the inputs on my Majik DSM, e.g. HDMI4 and I am able to switch and activate this input.
Unfortunately not all inputs activated on my Linn are visible on the Lumin app so for this moment it is not a full alternative to Kazoo!

And now I notice that the Linn white beta app has been updated, via Testflight.
Again had a little look - has the ability to access the Linn account directly from this app, via a browser, to change settings and Space Optimisation. A logical step.

Has anyone tried mconnect?

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mconnect-p...d503760460

I am using the Lite version at this stage.
I really like the way it presents Qobuz.
Don't like the fact that it cannot find or add to the Linn streamer's internal playlist. (As far as I can find).
Also not much use on a large collection without a Search function.

Or if it has these features it is not easy to use!

But I love trying all new apps, still nothing to rival Lumin IMHO.

Incidentally, following Simon's guidance, since I put in - Title.displayFormat={$title^$composer^ [^]} in Tagformat, Lumin has got even more wonderful, showing composers next to song titles.

RE: The control app thread
Lumin 7.0 has just been issued.
It has some minor tweaks which I have not had time to look at yet.

Later: seems to be some features for Tidal users.

In my experience, Tidal login is broken in Lumin v7.0 for iPad. I get the following error message every time when trying to stream Tidal to my Auralic Aries G2:

“Login Error (Connection Failed): Please Try Again.”

This could be a result of login protocol changes at Tidal (as opposed to something wrong with the Lumin app update).

Melco HA-N1ZH60 Mk1 (MinimServer 2) --> network --> AURALiC ARIES G2 --> Lightning Link (WWPS7 hdmi) --> AURALiC VEGA G2 with AURALiC LEO GX Master Clock --> XLR --> Mark Levinson No. 523 --> RCA --> JL Audio E-Sub e110 (active crossover @ 100 Hz) --> RCA --> Bryston 4B3 (Cubed) --> Magnepan .7

TIDAL did indeed change the API for login and the old way probably do not work anymore.
Linn DS hardware got a recent firmware update to fix it, so you can bet the Auralic is still using the old method.

RE: The control app thread
About Android control points....

My control app for 8 or 9 years has been BubbleUPnP. It was the best I tried back then, and it continues to be very good. It has some features I really appreciate, including accessing my library over the Web (issue raised in another thread today) and accessing booklets served by Minim Server. However, increasingly I am running into problems that detract from my enjoyment.

The most severe issue is that my Auralic Aries G1 sometimes crashes when adding a Qobuz track from BubbleUPnP. ONLY from BubbleUPnP, and only when BubbleUPnP accesses the Qobuz library directly, not when I share a track to BubbleUPnP. The developer tells me it's an Auralic problem; Auralic has been unable to replicate it, and I'm up the creek.

A minor issue is that when changing from one library to another several times, BubbleUPnP sometimes gets confused, and I have to reload the libraries or switch to a third library and back again.

Because of the Qobuz problem, I tried Lumin lately. It seems quite good in many ways. It adds Qobuz tracks without problem, but I find its interface confusing. I can't figure out how many screens it has and how to get back to the one I want. Features (like the "Q" for Qobuz button) seem to disappear, and I can't get them back.

I also tried HiFiCast, and I liked it very much. I wrote the developer, but he had no plans to support OpenHome. A pity.

I share your liking for Hi-Fi Cast and I would be using it myself it if OpenHome support were added. My requests to add this have (like yours) been politely declined.

RE: The control app thread
Warning. I updated Lin Kazoo on my iphone a couple of days ago and the app no longer works.

It starts and briefly displays kazoo interface before shutting down.

I've tried restarting the iphone but that does not help.

So think twice before accepting any Kazoo update offers on iphone, because if/when it breaks, you are stuck without a control point and no option to restore the old version.

So disappointing.

RE: The control app thread
I think it could depend on the device used.
On iPad 2gen, iPad 5gen, iPhone 5 and iPhone 7 it works without any issue (Kazoo 4.13.72).
Linn app (4.2.18) is working fine too (not on iPad 2gen as iOS 10.0 minimum is required)
