Still my favourite app in spite of its occasional moodiness.

RE: The control app thread
Hi Stefano...
Thanks for pointing this out.
I wonder if you could help me understand just what I am seeing.
If - on my iPhone or tablet - I touch on a file and then File information, I get something like

http//192.168.0.7:9050/disk/NON-DLNA-OP01-FLAGS0170000.O0$1$148 &c. ...flac

Does this mean that Twonky or my Melco N1A renames the files? I recognise the network address but not what follows.
If I access my Melco via Finder on my Mac, I get something predictable like ....beatles/harddaysnight/andiloveher.flac

Why does it do this? And is the address information that Lumin produces any real value?
I notice that the Linnapp, Kazoo, will provide exactly the same information.
Who would ever need this?
Sorry to be thick, and thanks in advance.

Donuk, York

RE: The control app thread
It seems that Twonky or Melco do rename files, maybe they use a proxy as default, this doesn’t apply to Minimserver where the displayed info is the actual path
The file information can be very useful when you need to find a file/album to change metadata when you realize there is some error, when you have your library spread on multiple hdd it can be a pain find (quickly) the right location

RE: The control app thread
There are actually very few servers that serve the actual filename (accounting for url conventions) which is a real pain as it means any playlists you create in control points can't be converted back to local m3u playlists! I believe it's because they're more compatible.

The Roon will be driven by the Harman's and not Room team's preferences.

Could be a good news. Roon's founder is a stubborn person, who basically tells any customer to f.. off when the customer says something countrary to his logic (I experienced this, when I said I wished to browse by folders, he replied that this was a very stupid way of navigating)

RE: The control app thread
In de the past days I changed from Volumio to Gentoo on my raspberries. Also using Diretta protocol so using two pi's.
All is working fine. Using Minimserver for more then 10 years and working perfect.
Still when streaming from my Synology NAS using BubbleDS it looks like the transcode is not working any more..
(flac(24;176):wav16;96,flac(16;192):wav16;96,flac(24;192):wav16;96,aac:wav16;44,dsf:wav16;96,dff:dopwav,mp3(192k):wav16;44) I use his as I am also using a TDA1541A dac which cannot handle 178kHz and up files.
Using Gentoo and BubbleDS the 178kHz are not re-sampled to lower sample rates anymore.

What must I check to get the re-sampling running again.

Thanks in advance.

RE: The control app thread
If you haven't changed anything on your Synology NAS, MinimServer should be sending the same transcoded streams as previously.

I am surprised that you are using BubbleDS rather than BubbleUPnP. BubbleDS is intended for Linn DS players only. Can you try this with BubbleUPnP?

BubbleDS can control any OpenHome renderer. Besides obviously Linn DS, the most common ones are upmpdcli based (includes Volumio) and 'BubbleUPnP Server' based.
